13 Cemetery Road

I live in Wilton, Maine and Halloween is really big here. A couple of days ago, I was driving by 13 Cemetery Road and the house and yard were devoted to Stephen King’s Derry and It, with a big scary clown, a pet sematary, a Welcome to Derry sign, and giant eyes peering from the window. The house has a matching mailbox. Is this paean to Stephen King a common thing in other parts of Maine? It kind of freaked me out.

CUIN.CA Immigration Company

I am in the United States and received a call today from a Canadian consultant firm that assesses people’s immigration status for immigration to Canada. I answered the call from a Vancouver number and spoke with her at length. She said her name was Eve Cameron. She was very nice and I provided mire information than I should have about my financial situation. At some point further along I suspected this might be a scam and so when the asked me if I wanted to proceed with a formal assessment, I told her I was interested but that I needed to be sure this was not a scam. She sent me a couple of emails with links to their website.

I saw on Reddit that many have found the place to be a scam, but most of these chats are no longer accessible.

What do people think? I really am interested in immigrating to Canada but don’t want to be a sucker. When I told her I had previously been scammed and had contacted the FBI, which had prosecuted several criminal cases involving this outfit, which targeted the elderly, it seemed like she ended the call pretty quickly.

Margaret Atwood shares REAL LIFE parallels in The Handmaid's Tale

For those of you who keep saying that the Handmaid’s Tale is about the treatment of women in Iran, please watch this. It’s based on the treatment of women throughout history, including in the American colonies.
