Hey guys,

Bought my first Nintendo after (switch 2). I’m needing game recommendations. Only got Mario kart 8 because I had some friends over and wanted to play but nothing else.

Buenas buenas, se que son tiempos difíciles y mas para gente junior como yo je.

Ando buscando alguna oportunidad laboral, aprender, etc, etc.

SQL Server / T-SQL, C#, Angular, TypeScript, Python, Java, Spring Boot, React, Next.js, Docker, AWS (IoT Core, ECS Fargate, ECR, RDS, Secrets Manager), PostgreSQL, SQLite, FastAPI, MQTT/TLS, MediaPipe, OpenCV, Raspberry Pi, Figma, Asana, Git.

Áreas de conocimiento:

Desarrollo full-stack, soporte/helpdesk IT, bases de datos y SQL avanzado, IoT y edge computing, cloud/infraestructura, machine learning

GRACIAS!!

Help me design my perfect setup

Hi everyone,

I'm currently redesigning my home office setup and would appreciate some advice before I start buying new equipment.

Current setup

  • MacBook Pro M3 Pro (personal machine)
  • HP ProBook (work laptop)
  • Dell 27" monitor (USB-C)
  • Logitech MX Master mouse
  • Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones
  • Mechanical keyboard (planning to replace it with a quieter low-profile keyboard)

What I do

I'm a software engineering student and I work heavily with:

  • Software development
  • Data engineering
  • Data science / machine learning
  • Cloud technologies
  • General productivity and multitasking

My workflow usually involves having multiple IDEs, terminals, browser windows, documentation, dashboards, Slack/Teams, and occasionally an iPad for notes or reference material.

Goal setup

My goal is to build a clean and ergonomic workstation where I can easily switch between my MacBook and work laptop.

I'm currently thinking about:

  • Keeping my existing 27" Dell monitor as the primary display
  • Adding a second 24" monitor in portrait/vertical orientation
  • Having the active laptop on a stand next to the monitors
  • Using a single dock/hub so I can switch between laptops with one cable
  • Mounting the monitors on monitor arms
  • Adding an iPad stand and improving cable management

Something similar to:

[ Vertical Monitor ] [ 27" Main Monitor ] [ Laptop ]

Questions

  1. Would you recommend a different monitor layout?
  2. Is a vertical monitor actually useful for development and data work long-term?
  3. What Thunderbolt dock would you recommend for a MacBook Pro M3 Pro and a Windows laptop?
  4. Any monitor arm recommendations for a 27" + 24" setup?
  5. What low-profile keyboard would you recommend if I want something quiet?
  6. Are there any upgrades or accessories that significantly improved your own setup that I'm overlooking?

I'm aiming for a setup that prioritizes productivity, ergonomics, reliability, and a clean desk aesthetic.

Thanks!
