Fairview Developmental Center

I don’t have all the information but I do not support turning this land into 4000 housing units. I saw the next council meeting is 9/15/26. We need to organize and fight this.
Signs, petitions, showing up to this meeting on 9/15/26… what can us citizens do?
Is there any group that is already organized to fight this?
Do we need to organize??? Who’s in?

I picked this up at the local thrift store. What is it?

Is it a jewelry chest?
Why is this pull out table top thing only extend 6.5” and not the whole length of the piece? What function does it serve?
There are no labels or manufacturers markings on any surface anywhere.
I’d be very grateful for any feedback. Thank you!

Apartment rental in HB - floor replacement needed. Logistics? Huntington Beach, [CA]

Hello, I have been living in my apartment in Huntington Beach for close to a year. My lease is up in a month and I plan to renew. However last week I was walking in my living room and noticed part of the floor had a little give. I could kind of apply pressure with my feet and bounce a little bit. It is not wet or moldy, it does not smell, the flooring panel has split a little bit but the splinters are not pointing up. Property manager recommended that I lay a rug on top of the split panel as to avoid injury. The apartment is livable. I am not in any immediate harm or danger from the floor needing to be replaced, so there is no direct sense of urgency for the repair, besides me being aware 24/7 that my floor is messed up!

I can continue to live with the floor like this,
With the likelihood of it getting worse, or they offered to replace the floor throughout the entire apartment. However, this means that I would have to move all my furniture around as they installed the new floor. For example, maybe the kitchen/dining/living room floors could be replaced one day - and furniture from those rooms could get piled into my bedroom during that time .
Then the flooring could be replaced in the remaining bedroom and bathroom, with that furniture being moved into my living room temporarily.

My question is: Does the property management company have the responsibility to pay for my hotel while my floors are being replaced? And am I responsible for paying for movers to help me move my stuff around? I am a single female and my furniture is very heavy.
Or, Does it make sense to continue living with it because this is going to be a giant hassle, or should I suck it up and just plan on a week or so of inconvenience while they repair it?

,is there anything that I should be aware of going into this decision? Thank you so much generally I have a great relationship with the property manager, as I said before , and I do enjoy living there, but I would like for them to possibly cover the cost of a residence inn or a local hotel while this is happening.

I love my pug niece, Crosby. I’m pretty sure she’s one of the cutest pugs on the planet. And I’m also a pug mom! I love my pugs so much and they are adorable in their own right, but when I see Crosby, it feels like I’m possibly seeing one of the Top 10 cutest pugs of all time. What do you think?
