I’m building SnapShop AI to help with that. You can take a picture of an item, part, tool, fitting, etc., and the app tries to identify it and show buying options — local, online, and wholesale/import options when available.
It’s built for DIY projects, homeowners, contractors, and anyone who has ever wasted time searching the wrong words or making extra trips to the store.
I’d really appreciate honest feedback:
Did it identify the item correctly?
Were the results useful?
Was anything confusing?
What would make you keep or delete it?

Not looking for praise — I need real feedback.
Not sure what these were used for but one has a patent date of January 5, 1892. Anyone know?
I have several obscure hand tools but this is the only one I've never been able to figure out. It appears to have something to do with wire as it has a built-in wire cutter. It is a very sophisticated tool but shows the markings of handmade manufacturing. It is stamped with a couple interesting Maker's Marks. I would be interested if anyone knows its purpose and vintage.
Originally I brought this thinking it was an oil can but now I’m honestly not sure.
No stamps or any imprints visible and I’m not sure what the fibre is inside the tube.
The tip is threaded at the very top so I think I’m missing a part.
Would love to hear your thoughts
I
Ifound this in an estate sale in a jar of random things and have no idea what it is.
the middle part sticking out can be pushed forward and a small sliver of metal sticks out.
Can anyone tell me the name of this type of chisel please?
What is this circle for? It is labeled “direction Ancillary Indicator” Please help I’m loosing sleep over this 🥲
I'm planning on restoring it, but I would like to know it's intended use.
My parents went to a steam show recently and my Mum found this brass(?) dome shaped item and fell in love with it…
However, we’re not sure what it is, what is missing from the top and what its purpose was?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you everyone.
I thought this was a knife or something. This was located at a construction site. I wonder what is it used for or what part of tools does it belongs to. About a foot and a half in length. Black and metal
Found this on the floor. The sleeve pulls back to release the bit. Thinking something to do with coaxial cabling?

The tip has female threads as well that seem to be the same as the male threads

My drawing is my best representation of what it is because I can't find the dratted thing. It was a type of latch I used, mostly in barns or workshops, mostly on the floor, it consisted of a wide flat bit of metal that went through a bracket/roundish bar piece attached to the ground to hold it in place, but could slide over the square barred bottom of a gate to latch is closed. Do any of you know what it is called? I've been looking all over the internet and can't find it and now I'm wondering if one of my farm friends just made it themselves. I am trying to find some to buy.
(I tried r/whatisthisthing but they kicked it since I know what it does I guess :P ) I do know what it does/what it kind of is but i have no idea what it is called or how to find them/get them made
