Mayer - Sphere

Just curious where all the “John Mayer can’t sell out the Sphere” folks went?

I remember quite a few posts questioning whether he could fill the place without Dead & Company. Well, apparently he did well enough to add another 12 shows.

I’m not going, and honestly, I’m not a huge fan of his solo work (although I love what he does with D&C).
What I find interesting is how some of us in the Dead community seem to think we’re the only fanbase passionate enough to travel across the country, attend multiple shows, and spend ridiculous amounts of money to see our favorite musicians.

Turns out we’re not the only ones.

Credit where credit is due. The guy clearly has a following well beyond Dead & Company.

Hopefully being back at the Sphere reignites his GD passion.

Bobby Weir, the Wolf Bros, the Wolfpack & the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center 10/09/2022 N4/4

I miss Bob & treasure this memory.

💀🎶🥀 4 years ago today 10-09-2022 I (and maybe you?) was at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC for night 4/4 of Bobby Weir, the Wolf Brothers, the Wolfpack & the National Symphony Orchestra. As he said that night, these were his inaugural shows with an orchestra, and it helped fill in sounds he'd always heard in the music.

Grateful for D&C

Just revisiting so many shows. Each year had its own flavor but it was all amazing. Now it sounds even better somehow. I guess that's the power of realizing its gone. It was a finite splash in the pan. A beautiful gift. An amazing ride. I have always loved the GD but find myself returning to D&C time and time again. There was something special about them carrying the torch and bringing new generations in so long after Jerry passed. Every song feels more impactful for the band and the crowd. Really grateful we got to experience this.

Remembering my coworker

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a story about how the Dead helped me get through a tough time today.

I’m a teacher at a school and a colleague of mine passed away yesterday. He was a huge deadhead and we connected quite a bit on it.

Played brokedown palace today in his memory at school and could not stop crying. But it made me feel a lot better knowing that he’s definitely still listening to the music!!

Fare you well, fare you well, we love you more than words can tell.

Heads up, SoCal Deadheads! Don't sleep on Delilah's Dead this Saturday at Corbin Bowl in Tarzana!

(I'm not affiliated with the band other than as a fan.)

Lots of folks danced to them at various Tuscany Hotel gigs during Dead & Company and Phish at Sphere. This weekend, October 3, 2026, they're heading south to Corbin Bowl in Tarzana with Ashton Slater.

If you're not familiar, here's Delilah's Dead with special guest, Grammy & Blues award winning bluesman Jimmy Carpenter dropping a smokin' hot Eyes of the World at The Pioneer Saloon last Sunday.

This Band.

I miss it, I miss the humor of the band and the people; I will remember and value for a lifetime this era while looking forward to the future. What a time we all had. A clip I thought was funny and a good memory.
