What ever happened to Pristeen Ween?

I heard the boys stole all his best ideas.

Another post about Jerry and guns.

Before anyone gets all bent and defensive, I don’t believe Jerry was by definition a “gun guy”. I believe he liked guns (it’s evident) but certainly not obsessed, most importantly he wasn’t anti gun.

There was a story I heard years ago about Jerry filing serial numbers off of guns during his time in the army so they could be sold on the streets. I would like to know if anyone else has heard this story and can site the source? I believe it’s true but can’t find supporting evidence, so for now I suppose it’s just a rumor or false memory.

Why is this important to me, why do I care? It’s not important, I’m just curious because I really admire Jerry and I also like guns. I don’t like selling guns on the black market, that’s not the point even a little bit.

The way I heard it told was not that he was some criminal arms dealer, more of a bored, young opportunist that didn’t give it much thought.

Edit: credit to u/nak550 and u/OlfactoryHughes77 for identifying the source. nak550 posted an image of the paragraph from the book in the comments. Thank you.

The book where this is mentioned is Dennis McNally’s ~ Long Strange Trip

There’s a dude in Portland that pours everything in his eye balls. He needs help.

True story. I go to taco joint for lunch and there’s a dude outside who appears to be homeless, heavily matted dreads, beard, blanket over his shoulder’s, kinda typical homeless dude. He asks me for money, I say I won’t do that but if you are hungry I’ll buy you some food, he said “yes please”.

I go inside and order him 4 tacos, and a large Horchata. I don’t know why Horchata but it sounded good so I thought I would hook him up. I come outside and hand him the Horchata, tried to hand him the tacos too but he immediately cracks the lid off the Horchata, throws back his head, opens his eyes to the heavens, and dumps the whole fuckin Horchata DIRECTLY into his eye balls. One giant, spicy, eye ball drenching. I was stunned watching this, still holding his tacos. When he finished he sorta gasped and just casually grabbed the tacos from me and shuffled away. Crazy shit.

This made such an impact on me I told my buddy about what had happened, described the dude, and he said he saw the same guy a couple days earlier in Fred Meyer causing all kinds of commotion in the beverage aisle. Said that all the store employees were shockingly watching this guy open up 2 liter bottle after 2 liter bottle of every soda jug he could get his hands on and dumping it his eye balls. Made a giant mess, I think they called the cops, don’t know. Crazy shit.

Has anyone run across this dude? I’m sympathetic to mental health, but this is some crazy shit I’ve never seen. This dudes eyes have got to be in distress.

Absolute Masterpiece Album.

It’s weird, I don’t care for Paul Simon’s material at all, but he tapped into something with this album that takes me somewhere very happy without fail, I can’t get tired of it and I’ve been a listener since it was released. It’s so friggin’ perfect and happy it’s overwhelming.

Edit: The Los Lobos controversy is blown way out of proportion from people just regurgitating some shit they heard, making it seem like the whole album was stolen from them without credit. The instrumental section of one track, (All Around the World or the Myth of Fingerprints) is alleged to be stolen from Los Lobos. Sounds like they were messing around and toying with this song (for themselves, not Paul) while they were in the studio for Paul and Paul liked it, took the master home, wrote lyrics over it, and incorporated it into the album as his own without give song credits to Los Lobos. That’s the Los Lobos controversy, and it’s probably true. Still a kick ass album.

Who does electrical side gigs in the Oregon City area?

Anyone know of a handyman/electrician that does very small jobs? I’m in Oregon City, need help wiring a 3 way switch to my hallway lights. I’ve exhausted the extent of my ability and calm demeanor. I’m about to destroy everything with a 20# sledgehammer I’m so frustrated.

Sturgill or Billy, who’s gonna fill in for Bob? It’s in John’s hands now.

I know John has the torch now so ultimately it’s his decision who’s gonna play Bob’s parts, but I feel like it could only be Sturg or Billy and I hope he’s vetting them both during this down time. Who’s gonna get the call to the big show?! Either deserve tbh but OMG, Sturgill singing Morning Dew! Yes please, duh.

Dead & Co is coming back as Dead & Co, and they’re gonna bring it right back to The Sphere because all the time John invested in the visuals, he’s not going to just give that up, this is his destiny. Bobby said 300 years, he didn’t tell John to change the name of the band and come back as something else. Dead & Company is Grateful Dead 6.0, the continuation. I miss you Bobby, I saw a red tail hawk circling overhead today and I know it was you brother.

Can’t wait to see all the heads at Shakedown at Caesar’s Palace again! Don’t tell me this town ain’t got no heart. No our love will not fade away! 300 years!!!!!

Hoping for Sphere Residency

I’m on my 28th series tour brothers and sisters. Got on the couch in 2023 and it’s been monumental. I have so much to say. Not fading away ever.

Live Dead in the living room.

Almost complete, not quite there yet, but the sound is great and it projects like a mofo.

Thanks to Trip for the hookups throughout the years.
