Original Colecovision

I have a Colecovision console from 1982 that works erratically. I think most of its issues relate to cleaning the game cartridge contacts and the inside of the console where the cart gets inserted. I’ve already cleaned many of the game cartridge contacts with IPA (91%). It has helped a little. And I’ve also cleaned the area inside the console itself - just below the cartridge slot, as far as I could reach. It’s obviously not enough as I keep having graphics and sound glitches mid game and even occasional freezes - all of which force me to reset the game.

I’m sure what it really needs is a complete check of internal components such as loose wires or solder joints as well as thorough cleaning of all switches and connections. Does anyone know of someone who might still dabble in restoring these older consoles? I live in Orange County CA. and hoping there’s someone local or within a reasonable distance. Thanks for any suggestions 😊

Sony flat screen HD CRT

I have the Sony XBR 970 HD flat screen and like most Sony flat tubes, it has some geometry issues. I’m also noticing that convergence is off - especially near the corners. I’m using it solely for retro gaming. I’m not nearly confident or skilled enough to open the back and fiddle with some of the adjustments that are near the neck of the tube. But I am familiar with how to access the service menu. My question is this: are there adjustments in the service menu that would have a noticeable impact on correcting either or both of the above issues? I understand that imperfect geometry is very common with all flat tubes and is often difficult if not impossible to get perfect. That being said, I’m probably willing to live with it as is - so I’m mainly hoping to at least improve the convergence issues. I’m also noticing a slight loss of focus overall - or is that likely due to the convergence being off? If any or all of these issues can be somewhat corrected in the service menu I’d like to give it a try if it’s worth the effort. But I know for certain, that I’m not confident enough to touch anything inside the set. Thanks
