Positive vs. negative impact on Development
Why do I discount all of the good things that people say to me, or that happens to me, or that I do, but, all of the bad/negative things get internalised, and become part of “who I am”???
I’m 47 and this has always been the way, and still is.
Replacing HP Envy J0C50EA with a HP Omen 16-wf1001na...
So my HP Envy J0C50EA has served me WELL for WELL over 10 years!!! It's still going strong (well, strong-ish!), but it's time to replace it - so I've bought a refurbed HP Omen 16-wf1001na.
Specs:
- 16.1" 1920 x 1080 Full-HD
- Core i7 (20 Cores) (2.1 GHz)
- 16GB (2 x 8GB)
- 1TB M.2 SSD
- 8 GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070
I'll be moving to Win11, so, that's gonna be fun, too. 😉
Looking for performance/tuning tips for this machine, for the hardware and for the OS.
No gaming for me, the graphics are less important to me than the audio performance, latency, and especially DPC latency.
I'll be using this for running Traktor Scratch (DVS) with a DJM-850 and for production with Ableton Live, general internet usage and some MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
I got pretty good at tuning Win10, and I'm not looking forwards to doing that for this thing on Win11!
Definitely looking to strip it of ANY bloatware. Since I won't be using it for gaming, is there any gaming specific stuff that I can remove?
Can anyone point me to any good, modern tuning guides for Win11? Are registry tweaks still a thing? I'm not interested in anything that makes the O/S look pretty, nor animations/glass effect or anything like that.
I just want to turn this thing into a super efficient workhorse! I know that the specs are more than enough to run Traktor + Ableton Live. In fact, I'm going to be trying to run them both at the same time, and route live audio from Traktor (while using DVS) to Ableton Live using VB Audio Matrix. But, how do I make the most of this thing?
I've also got to get hold of some USB-C to USB-B cables. Probably gonna plump for some DJTT Chroma Cables, unless anyone has any better/similar suggestions for cables?
