Mannequins move in camp

Ok, I’m assuming others are also having this similar issue as well? I have two mannequins on the third floor of my camp, and maybe a little less than 50% of the time I go back to my camp, either one or both of the mannequins are on the ground outside my camp. I’ve just ignored it and place them back in position for months, but it’s getting annoying enough I’m about to just remove them.

It doesn’t happen in any of the shelters, just the camp. I really wish they would fix this since I feel mannequins do a lot to set a scene, but I’m nearly not finding it worth it if I just have to keep placing them over and over and over again.

MacBook Pro M5 or Max, or Mini or Studio?

Hey all, I’m hoping I could get some advice and recommendations from some tech wiz’s or others that use their Mac’s for similar things.

I’m a graphic designer, have worked in an office for a decade, and just started working from home, and I need to upgrade from my older personal MacBook ASAP.

So as my title says, I’m deliberating between the newest MacBook Pro M5 or Max, or the Mini or the Studio. I had intended to research a while, but it seems I need to make the decision quickly. I know the MacBook obviously has the portability, but it would be docked most all the time. Yes, it would be a nice bonus if they really are strong enough now that other things aren’t accommodating for that, but my priority is absolutely processing speed and lifespan. It will be getting a ton of usage so my concern is a laptop getting worn down faster.

Now my main uses will obviously be the Adobe Creative Cloud suite where I’ll be using many of the programs simultaneously. The most extensive for the Adobe programs will be After Effects, I’ll have a lot of really large files, and video editing and animating is bricking my current Mac. Then I’ll have many storage and file transferring programs up at the same time which is really taxing on my current Mac. Then I dabble in Zbrush, Blender, and Unreal Engine as well, so I need it to handle top notch rendering. Also music software, mostly Logic. And the thing I am looking to getting into is working with different AI models that will help me get into game design more, which I’ve read about being super taxing on the processing. So, between all of those things, and running them nonstop, would that wear down on the MacBook too much and give it a shorter lifespan, and would the others be more reliable in the long term? I’ve been leaning toward the desktop comps because I have so much concern about lifespan, but I have read a ton about how great the new MacBook is, so I’m really up in the air here.

This is my rant, sorry. Appreciate any help!

Home Workstation Suggestions

Hello all, first time posting, please let me know if there’s a better place to ask these questions. If so, my apologies.

I’ve always worked in an office and had work devices, so this just isn’t something I’ve had to become knowledgable in yet, but just started a job working from home. I have a Mac laptop for now, but I am looking to get a desktop set up sooner than later. I am a graphic designer, mostly using the Creative Suite, but especially when it comes to video editing and animation, I need a new CPU with a lot of processing speed because the laptop definitely can’t cut it there, and I’m always running a good amount of these programs at once. I just can’t deal with something that takes forever or crashes. Of course for a monitor, one particularly focused on high quality graphics is a priority as well. I also want to have the option to use things like Blender, Zbrush, possibly Unreal Engine.

Right now I’m even uncertain if I should go Mac or elsewhere. Ive worked with and am accustomed to both routes. At my last job of 8 years we mostly used PC. I’ve always loved Mac, particularly the UI, but I’m kind of under the impression it’s a bit more restrictive? I could be mistaken, but I know I’ve heard things in that regard in the past. Ultimately, I am looking for advice from possibly any others that have been in the similar field at all, that could offer some advice and recommendations for what would be the most optimal given my circumstances. Thanks in advance!

I’ve seen some different complaints made with things from the new content, but personally my main complaint is the restricted area shelter. I’ve bought all the other shelters when they drop or go on sale, so I have 22. I massively design all of them, so one is a ‘hall of shelters’ with all of the entrances in it. I’ve been able to slightly adjust stuff to add the other entrances as I’ve gotten them. But for some reason, unlike all the other shelters that have two different entrance options (other than the summer camp that I still managed to squeeze in and hide the body of the bus), the restricted area shelter only has one, and it’s massive for an entrance. I genuinely don’t think I’ll be able to manage making enough space for it among the others, and if so, it will take soo much tweaking. Why didn’t they include an alternate option that was just a door or latch?? I get others just not caring about the difference, but even outside of my absurd hallway, it is a very restrictive object that doesn’t allow a lot of flexibility. I get every shelter, but I genuinely might not get this one just because I find this ridiculous.

PS- For anyone interested that’s on PS, let me know and I’ll send you my GT 🫡
