Places to Paddleboard?

Hey all! I just got my SUP and I’m so excited! I plan on mainly paddling kayak style but of course want to stand as well.

My question is are there any hidden gems in Durham/surrounding areas? I’m willing to drive if it’s worth it.

I have an app that shows me locations but I’m curious if there are any spots that you really enjoy and why :)
