Custom Tote Bags Local Biz?

I volunteer with my local library and we’re looking to have tote bags made for our book sale later this year. (Think either cotton shoulder bags or reusable shopping bags.)

Of course, there are the national companies like Vista Print, but does anyone have any local businesses to recommend that make promotional products like this? Bonus if they offer a discount to non-profits and/or tax-exempt orgs.

Deteriorating Driver Door Trim

Sorry for the pollen-filled photos. The trim on my driver’s side door is peeling and deteriorating. Is this trim piece replaceable.

If not, any suggestions for fixing / improving?

Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is Under Appreciated

When people talk about the great RPGs for PS2, they inevitably bring up Final Fantasy X, Dragon Quest VIII, Suikoden, etc. and I never hear folks talk about this. I feel like they should. It’s got an incredible story and tons of personality. Plus, it’s got tactical combat that’s not overly complicated (think Shining Force as opposed to FF Tactics).

For players who are put off by lots of story (and unskippable cutscenes) this one isn’t for you. But the story being as strong as it is, I honestly didn’t mind the heavy amounts of narrative.

The graphics are really great, and you can tell that Cattle Call knew how to work with the PS2 hardware. And there are tons of fun details throughout — like the way the weathercock on top of Maru’s bow spins whenever he shoots an arrow or how Delma stomps her feet in frustration. All the characters have their own distinct personalities.

The final boss is challenging and requires a lot of strategy to overcome. The ending, too, feels earned and doesn’t conclude with a “happily ever after.” For a story that’s rooted in how racism leads to hatred and conflict, the story ends in a way that feels realistic for the characters’ journeys.

If you like RPGs, give this one a try. It’s stupidly cheap at around $10 for a CIB copy.

Write to PURA Re: Eversource Rate Hikes

The Action Network has made it incredibly easy to write to PURA regarding Eversource's proposed energy rate hikes. You can use their form letter or personalize as you see fit. Either way, it only takes a few moments to make your voice heard.

Dust Collector for Home Framer

I do framing out of my home basement and would like to consider investing in some kind of dust collection system. I’m just starting my research, so I figured I would ask for personal recommendations.

Since I’m based out of my home, I’d prefer the collector to be a smaller unit. I’m not at all high volume, so I don’t need to worry about cutting 30 frames a day every day.

Mad Mare Farm Piglet Social Hour

About a month back, I saw that Mad Mare Farm in Bethany was advertising its piglet social hours. Decided to attend with my family and had a great time. The farm owners are so lovely and are passionate about the animals they keep and raise. If you have a chance to attend one of their events in the summer or fall, I definitely recommend it.

The Youth Services Department at Naugatuck’s Howard Whittemore Memorial Library was honored with this year's Publicity Award from the Connecticut Library Association for its video promoting a new Toy Library. This special “library of things” lends a variety of children’s toys and games to patrons.

▲ 5 r/Hosta

I live in the northeast USA. We had two frosts after the hostas started coming up. Most of my plants how have leaves like this. They begin fading to white, then become weak, lose structure, become transparent, and die.

I’ve looked at all the common diseases, and none seem to match this description (to my admittedly untrained eye). Is this a result of the frost or something more serious?

ETA: I don’t *think* this is sun scorch because these are well established and have been in the same location for many years.
