I want to help these kids get an education, but I can’t afford to do it alone. Are there any organizations in Karachi that could help?

Hey everyone. I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.
These children are the kids of a woman who helps my family with housework. She brings them with her because there isn’t really anyone at home to look after them while she works.
They’re unfortunately not well-fed and, more importantly, they aren’t getting an education. I’m a student myself so I’ve been trying to help with whatever I can afford, but honestly it isn’t enough for me to take responsibility for their schooling and basic needs on my own.
They’re Christian, and my family is also not helping me with it and has also said they can’t help through Zakat because Zakat isn’t applicable to them. Im looking for a church, NGO, or individual program that could actually help get these children into school and preferably support them with books, uniforms, meals, etc.
The eldest girl especially made me want to do something. She saw her cousins studying and wanted to learn too. I gave her a notebook and asked her to write a little just to see what she already knew. She was able to recognize/write some English letters, numbers and Urdu letters (ا، ب، پ), and she seems like a genuinely eager learner.

I’m willing to do whatever I reasonably can from my side, theres not much a student like me can personally afford.

Who faces the consequences for Order mistakes on Foodpanda

Hi guys, I genuinely feel bad opting for a refund when I receive the wrong product or something is missing because I’m never sure who actually bears the consequences. 😭 I’d hate for someone to suffer or lose money over 300–400 PKR.
But if it’s the corporation paying for it, I’ll happily take my refund. 🙂
Who is responsible?

Hair straightener/curler recommendations please

Hi girlies! I’ve always used an old straightener that was passed down by my mother, so I have absolutely no idea what’s considered good in the market these days 😭
I have thin and wavy hair and I’m looking for something that can give me a smooth, frizz-free finish without absolutely frying my hair.
I came across this Dawlance straightener for around Rs. 4,200 is that a good deal, I’ve also been eyeing the JMMO/SHEIN automatic rotating styling devices because they look ridiculously easy to use.

Please help this naive girl out and list some recommendations.

How do you reconnect with the will to live when you feel numb?

I’ve noticed that when I hold my breath for as long as I can or put myself in danger and then finally give in, that desperate rush for air reminds me that, deep down, I still want to live. It’s strange how a moment of feeling my own survival instinct can cut through the numbness and make me grateful to be alive.

It makes me wonder how other people reconnect with that feeling.

What brings you back when you feel disconnected from life?

How do you love or respect a father who’s a bad person?

Maybe it was his childhood. Maybe it was trauma. Maybe he never had a chance to become better. But every time I try to understand him, it feels like I’m betraying the people he hurt.
So I stop trying to understand and just exist. We live under the same roof, pretending we’re a family.

The worst part isn’t even him anymore. It’s me.

I keep catching pieces of him inside myself in the way I react, the way I speak, the anger that slips out before I can stop it. I look in the mirror and sometimes I don’t see myself anymore. I see him.

People say you can choose who you become, but what if you’ve spent your whole life being shaped by someone you never wanted to be like?
I feel trapped between hating him and hating the parts of me that remind me of him. I don’t know how to separate where he ends and where I begin.
And I can’t tell what’s genetics and what’s years of growing up around him. Maybe it’s both.

Does anyone else feel like they’re slowly turning into the person they fear the most?
How do you escape and stop the generational trauma?

Trying to make Eid a little special this year.

Hi everyone,

This might be a bit of an unusual request, but I thought I’d give it a shot.

I’m a student and I’ve always wanted to host a small Eid gathering. We don’t really have relatives in the city, and Eid has always been very quiet and lonely for me. I’m also a private student with no friends. This year, I’m trying to put together a simple rooftop dinner for a few people, but my budget is quite limited.

If anyone has any event items sitting in storage that they wouldn’t mind sharing for a day or two, it would honestly mean so much to me. I’m looking for things like:

• Chafing dishes
• Fairy lights
• Lanterns or decor pieces
• BBQ skewers or grilling accessories

I promise to take good care of them and return it promptly. I’m simply hoping to create a warm and memorable Eid evening without spending more than I can afford as a student.

Thank you for reading, and Eid Mubarak in advance. 🌙✨
