[Japanese > English] Rubber band from a Mahjong parlor
Why is it a bad discard ?
I can barely understand the discard of the 1P because I don't want to chase another pair later on but I can see the plan. But why discarding a 3P dora is a better choice than than discarding a 2p while both situation end up with a sequence + pair.
I went for 2p dicard to keep Ishanten on 3s/6s and 5m/8m because all 16 tiles are alive and I declared my Kan of dora when I drew my tenpai tile right before caling Riichi and won that way but it seems it was a poor choice.
What's your opinion ?
Would you follow Maka and renonce to a Ryanmen wait for a Shanpon wait with a small chance of 1 extra han ?
I have no suji trap and there are 7 tiles left for Ryanmen wait and 4 tiles left for Shanpon but if I get a red dragon I can get 1 extra han.
Is it really worth it ?
If you still need a reason to not Kan
Went from low 4th place to 1st place thanks to my opponents random Kan. I Was 1 Dora/Ura Dora away from counted Yakuman.
Without those extra Dora/Ura Dora I would have only get Haneman and barely made it to 3rd place.
Why 9m and not 2m ?
What am I suppose to do with that 2m ?
7-7-9 is not optimal but can still be a 7-7-7 or a 7-8-9 or my final pair with a safe 9m to discard.
I don’t see how to fit the 2 with my 4-5-6 shape. Of course if I get a 3 I can do a 2-3-4 and 5-6-7 but that will rely on discarding a 7 as well with a kanchan wait.
If at least it would have unlocked Tanyao I would have understand, but that’s not the case.
Edit : Mortal discard preferences are 2m>2p>9m so it's probably a marginal preference.
Daily dose of sadness
My fault for gambeling in East only, but hell, those Tsumo hit so hard while in the dealer sit.
