Fixing a frayed seam in a vintage skirt

I noticed a fraying seam on a vintage skirt I really like (pic 1). Took out all the stitching/serging - the inside pair of pins show the damaged area, the outside pair are where I ripped back to (pic 2); pic 3 is the damaged fabric. Pic 4 shows the trimmed and resewn seam, blended into the original seam; I use a 3-step zigzag for finishing on repairs like this. Pic 5 is the repair from the outside. Pic 6 shows an example of other damage I found on the skirt seams - I reinforced them all while I had matching thread going.

I do recommend taking the time to take seams apart like this for sturdy and lasting repairs.

Machine and Hand Mending on pre-distressed denim

I bought these secondhand/deadstock as I love the fit and style, and they're fairly beefy all cotton denim (c. 2013). It was interesting to see that they were 'pre-mended' as well as pre-distressed. I wanted to darn as much as possible before I started wearing them so they'd last longer. I opened the outside seams to make it easier to mend the lower legs. I added interfacing to some places, and added extra stitching over the factory darns. I used a regular 80/12 needle and all cotton thread. I did hand cross stitch and blanket stitch to re-inforce thin spots on the pockets where my machine wouldn't fit.
