i haven't been following the steam frame for a while because i knew it wasn't going to show up any time soon but now that we actually have people reviewing it some things just dont sit right with me. sure there is a lot of good things about it like not needing a tether cable and being lighter but the controllers not having a chargeable battery unless you buy recharable ones yourself seems like a massive downgrade to me, sure you can quickly replace them if they die but im not going to be in VR for long enough for that to matter, im guessing its good for those who spend hours in VR but im a casual VR user and usually only play for a couple of hours at a time so a plug in controller seems like a better option, i have never had a index controller die on me mid game.

next the cameras, light house tracking with the base stations seems better overall in my opinion plus one of the main reasons why i chose an index over any other headset is because it didn't use cameras and valve having a better reputation over all. so not having that available as an option for tracking is a big blow to my consideration of actually buying one, would probably rather buy another index if that was still possible then to buy a steam frame for loss of these two things alone.

idk maybe im thinking to hard about it. by all other metrics its an upgrade but these two things are a big deal breaker for me. maybe some 3rd party would be able to fix these issues idk. just feels limiting based on how i want to use VR.

idk what are your thoughts on this.

so currently nothing is broken on my index or its base stations other then a controller not having touch tracking anymore on the joy stick however i am worried about keeping it maintained in the future as i don't really want to buy a steamframe due to it using camera tracking im not comfortable with that.

so just wondering what i should do in the event a base station dies, cable dies, the index itself dies or brakes in some way. how would you go about maintenance or replacement of the discontinued product

so im currently replaying gale of darkness. but i no longer have the pokemon i used in the past for my last true ribbon master. so im wondering how to get through the towers. firstly i only have pokemon sapphire for gen 3 gba games. and i have a jappenese copy of Soul silver and a copy peal. i cant use metagross or latias in gen 3 due to me not having them in the game anymore and i dont want to replay the game as i think it would take to much time.

i dont have accesses to suicune at all since i used the DNS thing last time and that one is gone now. i do have cresselia though.

what would be your recommendations to go about this.

im not worried about gen 6 or 7 because i actually kept the pokemon i used for the mason in those games.

i want this to be a mass strategy thread for anyone wanting to do the thing. to help one another the best we can in these 6 months left. to see what works and what doesn't. to find other methods and tactics. so lets try to make the best of these 6 months.

so yea this is basically your last chance to get a fennikin/braixen/delphox from there original games as well as a bunch of other pokemon. so im making this as a reminder in case anyone wanted to do that plus spreading the word about bank incase you where unaware of it.

i wanted to start a new ribbon master but i would need to restart several games in order to have the pokemon i require in those games to do things like the gen 4 battle tower so i been neglecting doing them. any advice in this regards?

i want to make a hybrid cultural with a somewhat distance nation how do i do this

long story short i got an very old kind and a very young heir whenever the king dies factions blow up out of no where and everyone starts being fucking annoying and i dont have enough money to higher enough mercs to deal with it and i REALLY dont want to lose all my progress since i been trying to get an empire title. all my vassals just suddenly hate me and its super annoying. i spent seveul hours trying to prevent it and only getting some success with allowing some vassals independes that i can deal with later, if i dont do that i end up losing everything. but then im in debt which prevents me from stableizeing shit.

i been trying to find a comparison of the two and dont know which ones are more worth it.
based on what i have a gathered myself.

normal mercenaries

1. can control
2. they appear immediately
3. the amount you pay is the amount you pay.

special mercenaries

1. cant control, work more like allies
2. they need to traval to location
3. cheaper up front but can become more expensive depending on their war contributions
4. stronger then normal?

holy orders

1. can control
2. they appear immediately
3. they are basically free since they use piety (from experience piety is super easy to build up)
4. shouldn't be used unless fighting someone of different religion or they will turn on you.

i added holy order there just because its also technically a mercenary option but im more curious about the first two on which are better to use.

so as the title says i randomly got this legend seed and not sure if i should use it on my 65 year old character or not.

advice?
