SEYA Flagship vs Raffles City Hotel, which is “better”

My friends and I want to go in December, and the main focus is really the view and getting our money worth for the hotel (cap of 300 dollars per night for 5 nights).

Does anyone know which would be better to book?

Thank you!!

My(25M) younger cousin (12m) is lying about his race because of insecurity

For context, I’m the first person on my mom’s side of the family to be born in the U.S. The rest of my family immigrated from Punjab, India. Growing up in the Boston area, I struggled with pretty low racial self-esteem. Being Indian wasn’t exactly something I felt proud of as a kid, and for a while I wanted to distance myself from that part of my identity. Thankfully, I eventually grew out of it and became much more comfortable with who I am.

Recently, I came across my younger cousin’s TikTok account. He’s half Uzbek and half Indian, but in his bio he has the Uzbekistan and Colombia flags instead. He also has several videos using Spanish music and generally seems to be presenting himself online as if he’s Latino.

Part of me wonders if this is connected to insecurity about being Indian. South Asians are sometimes mistaken for Latino/Hispanic, so I could see how someone who is uncomfortable with their identity might lean into that ambiguity. Obviously, I can’t know exactly what he’s thinking, and I don’t want to project my own childhood experiences onto him, but it reminds me a lot of the racial insecurity I had when I was younger.

I’m wondering whether I should talk to him about it. I don’t want to embarrass him or make him defensive, especially if this is just some harmless teenage internet persona. At the same time, if he genuinely feels ashamed of being Indian and is creating another identity online to self soothe with that, I’d rather be someone he can talk to now than have him carry that insecurity into adulthood.

Would you say something, or just leave it alone?

tldr: younger cousin is pretending to be half latino online, possibly stemming from racial insecurity.

What is the best books/readings/ place to start for someone who is a beginner?

Hello Everyone!!

So I have a degree in Criminology, and its been a few years since receiving my undergrad degree, and I've noticed ive missed having more "intellectual curiosity" in my life.

Ive been growing my curious about pyschoanalysis but want to actually engage more deeply with it.

I know the names Freud, Lacan, and Otto Rank but I feel like a total noob. The world of the psychosexual especially interest me, so if anyone has any recommendations for places to start reading, that would be amazing!!

▲ 6 r/Hair

I got a horrible haircut even after using myself as a reference photo. What exactly do I say to get the same style every time?

Photo 1: my hair RIGHT before my haircut, just wanted a trim

Photo 2,3,4: reference photos

Photo: 5,6: haircut result

She completely ignored my natural middle part and cut wayy too much off the sides (i will tell her in the future to always have enough hair on the sides to drape my ears a little)

But what exactly should I say i want for a maintenance trim? I like to have a shaggy wolfcut/ modern mullet blend that sits in a middle part

Dumb question: When did Baku formally rejoin Kakerou?

So im about to start air poker but i just had a weird feeling I didn’t understand the manga so I wanted to reread some arcs I felt unsure on.

But then I realized, when did Baku formally rejoin Kakerou? Because the first game he won, he gave his membership to Kaji, but I can’t for the life of me remember when Baku got his membership, i just keep blanking

Is that tiny shard that was ripped out of him before the sun destroyed the planet, phos? If so, then what happened to the phos that became a lunarian and went to the other universe?
