Lansdowne Trip (31 July – 2 Aug): Current Road Conditions, Landslides & Scooty Travel Safety?

Hi everyone,

A couple of friends and I are planning a trip to Lansdowne from 31st July to 2nd August. We'll most likely be travelling on a scooty, and before finalizing the plan, we wanted to get some recent ground-level updates from people who are currently there or have visited in the last few days.

A few things we'd love to know:

Are there any landslides or road blockages on the routes to Lansdowne?

How are the road conditions right now, especially after the recent monsoon rains?

Is it safe to travel on a scooty, or would you recommend avoiding two-wheelers for now?

Any particular stretches that are prone to landslides, waterlogging, or poor visibility?

How's the weather forecast looking for the coming weekend?

Any other precautions we should keep in mind?

We're okay with light rain and mountain driving, but we'd prefer to avoid unnecessary risks if the conditions are currently bad.

Would really appreciate honest feedback from locals, frequent travellers, or anyone who has recently driven to Lansdowne.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Looking for someone serious who is into playing Badminton on morning weekends (near DMart, Mansarovar)

Hi,

I have posted in past 1-2 times and received multiple DMs from people who wanted to play badminton but somehow it couldn't happen as they backed out at the last moment.

So, this time I'm searching / looking for someone who is seriously into playing Badminton with me. If interested, we can book a court near to us for one hour and can split the expense.

I'm open for singles and doubles, whatever works and males / females both are welcomed who are just quite passionate and comfortable about playing badminton.

Other than, this DM me, if you are also looking for someone to play with.

(PS: It has been sometime since I last played it, but I play decent (not a noob, not an expert either)

A Huge Crash in US Semiconductor Stocks!

Hi Everyone,

So I just started investing in US markets 2 days ago and posted in this subreddit to seek recommendations from people in which stocks I should invest and it turned out most of those have asked me to avoid buying Sandisk, AMD and TSM and it turned out that they were right and apt in their calculations.

These stocks have been corrected almost 10-12% in these 2 days. Are you expecting a more downfall in these stocks and other stocks like Apple, Google, Microsoft, ServiceNow and others?

Need Recommendations and Advice to invest in US market.

Hi Everyone, so I have been investing in Indian Market since last 2 years.

But currently looking how our rupee is depreciating against dollar and how the US companies are performing, I am very much interested in investing into US Market (NASDAQ)

Since, I am very new to US Market so I need your suggestions / advice / recommendations on the companies I should invest now..

Sandisk seems to be quite high to me, and I'm not sure if it's right time to invest in AMD and NVDIA or I should wait for sometime?

I'm planning to invest Rs. 1 lakh as of now and will gradually increase it with time.

If you are invested or have knowledge of the stocks I should pick it would be appreciated.

[24/M] Looking for pen-pal to exchange actual hand-written letters through post

Hey!

I’m from India and looking for pen pals within India (as it gets expensive to send and receive letters from outside India) who’d genuinely enjoy writing and exchanging handwritten letters. I’ve always liked the idea of slow conversations, sharing little life updates, thoughts, stories, music, random observations, and just getting to know someone over time through letters.

I’m comfortable writing in both English and Hindi, so either works for me.

A little about me - I’m into tech, journaling, music, deep conversations, and sometimes just talking about how weird life can be. I’d prefer people who are consistent and actually interested in keeping the exchange going instead of disappearing after one letter 😭

If this sounds interesting to you, feel free to DM me!

PS: I'm looking to exchange letters via post and not via email. So, if you love this idea do lmk.

Also, if more and more people are interested to write to each other then we can form a group or a community also to send letters to each other, though it's quite difficult. So, I prefer generally the letters between 2 people.

There was a time when conversations didn’t disappear with a swipe.

I used to write letters to my friends with all heart and soul, sitting with feelings, choosing words a little more carefully… and somehow, everything felt more honest.

Now most of those friends have moved abroad, and somewhere along the way, that rhythm got lost. Messages became shorter, replies became quicker, and conversations… lighter. Not worse, just different. But I miss the weight of words. The pause between sending and receiving. The quiet excitement of opening something that someone took time to write just for you.

So here I am, trying to bring that back.

I’m looking for a pen-pal... someone who’s willing to exchange handwritten letters. Not perfectly written ones… just real thoughts, reflections, stories from your day, things you don’t usually say out loud.

We can talk about anything...life, psychology, random observations, things that confuse us, things that make sense only at 2 AM. There’s no pressure to be impressive. Just be real.

If that resonates with you, maybe we could write to each other...

Edit: I’m based in India, so it would be easier (and probably more consistent) to exchange haandwritten letters with people here. But if you’re from somewhere else and the idea resonates with you, you’re absolutely welcome too.. distance just makes the anticipation a little more beautiful, I guess.

Actually, I've been working here as a Software Engineer since a year and been a swimmer while I was in School. I get time on weekends and wanted to restart swimming again and so looking for some amazing swimming pools in Jaipur.

I want it to be per day basis and not monthly basis as I would not be able to go on weekdays.

So, if you know any good swimming pool which offers on per day basis, then please do let me know. I would be grateful.

Thanks.

BTW, I live near Shipra Path, Mansarovar but am open to go to anywhere if I find a good swimming pool.
