I ordered "dirt"?

I just told my husband that I need to repot a lot of my plants and that I ordered some dirt from Amazon. He said he could just go and get me some dirt on the roadside. He can't believe I ordered "dirt." Lol. He knows nothing about houseplants. To be fair to him, it's not really dirt, but I just called it that. It made me laugh, and I had to share. Thanks.

Did you have Dawn Dolls?

Who remembers Dawn Dolls? I actually liked them better than Barbies.

Tubiflex or similar compression question

I am waiting to get into a lymphedema PT. In the meantime, I'm wearing tubiflex compression where you cut the length from a huge roll yourself. You have to double it to get proper compression. It's so hard to get on! Q: Does anyone have experience wearing this? How do you deal with the top rolling and tourniquetting the leg below the knee? It's horrible!

What would you prefer? ☕️🫖🧈🥐

Every time I see Cora in bed having breakfast, I think about if I would prefer that as opposed to eating with the family. I don't really understand the rationalization behind the tradition, but I think I'd rather be at the table in the beautiful dining room with the family. Not by myself, trying to get comfortable with pillows, etc. I could feel my back hurting. She can't even watch a TV. LOL. I guess you don't have to worry about getting dressed up? I see that as the only benefit. Thoughts?

Constant viewing problems in Chicago

Hello. I'm in downtown Chicago and after the complete outage a few days ago, watching cable has been ridiculous. The screen goes blank, the content of a show rewinds, starts over. A kaleidoscope of color appears on screen. A message about patience comes up. Some channels appear better than others. It's slow to change anything. And on and on. What is going on? Still problems??

Abbott and Costello monster mash-ups

I have seen all of the Abbott and Costello monster movies many times. I wonder if this is an unpopular opinion, but I find Bud Abbott much funnier than Lou in these movies. I love his straight one-liners. Does anyone else feel this way? Sometimes, I find Lou annoying like he was just trying too hard. I do love them both, though.

Caramel Marble repotting tips and suggestions

I've had this for about a year. I'm thinking about repotting her as I want to give her more TLC. There is a soil plug (not sure what the official name is). I don't believe it's root bound at all. I am thinking about a clear plastic pot, maybe an orchid pot, the same size, 4 inches, with some potting soil, orchid mix, perlite. I'd like to add a nice wooden trellis. I can't do a moss pole. Any advice or thoughts?

Cleaning and refreshing?

Does anyone have any special techniques for cleaning and dusting your plush friends? I've had some medical problems and haven't been as attentive to cleaning everything as regularly as I would have liked. Thanks.

Did you have "storm windows"?

I grew up in a big frame bungalow type house that I remember had storm windows. They were stored in the basement in the summer. I don't remember my parents putting them on the windows, but I guess they did. I think when you're a kid, you probably don't think about it or notice. Did anyone have those?

Do these guys look ok?

Are the brown bottoms ok on the two? They aren't mushy, and I let them dry upside down. They haven't grown at all in a year and a half. I was ill for most of that time, and they were neglected. I hope they can start thriving.

Hello

I just wanted to say I'm happy to have found this group. I'm so tired of this jaw. Yawning is a nightmare. I hope I can find some tips because my oral surgeon just said to eat pasta and mashed potatoes for a month. After over 200 bucks. So I'll be looking for alternative solutions or help. Thank you.

Marigold

On my second watch of Downton (I coerced my husband to be a fan!), and I can't help but think there's something odd about Marigold. She's usually expressionless and doesn't seem to be able to speak one line (not even "Mama"). I don't pretend to be an expert on kids, but does anyone else notice anything?

A noir on the docks?

I'm trying to remember the name of a noir film. It's set in a city harbor, and there's a dock worker who lives in a dingy little house right on the docks. He's sheltering a lady who was in trouble, and she sleeps on a cot in the tiny house. I'm not sure if it's mob trouble? I think they end up falling in love. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks!

Life

All I can say is I was diagnosed with RA 31 years ago, and it has completely destroyed my life. I really have no interest in going on and hope each day is my last. I'm sorry for this heavy post, but I'm really struggling and have no one else to vent to. I feel I have overcome a lot of medical issues due to RA, but new issues are thrown at me all the time. Stop the insanity. Thanks for being there.
