2wd Grom

Why didn’t they make a 2wd Gorgon or Quake Grom ? Had to do it myself . LC Racing BHC-1 rtr ($130 on sale before the V2 came out) and a JRXT body. Used the BHC T body mounts so it was pretty straightforward, almost any mini wheels will work but more offset is better to help clear the body in turns. Brushless converted with a 2850 and 35a ESC , came out to around $200 not bad at all but not the beefiest basher, more race style as the BHC is like a slightly larger Mini b.

Loving my 2027 so far. Chevy Floor liners are sweet

Averaging over 5mi /kwhr and paying 6 cents per. Close to a penny per mile

Smooth Criminal

Mini LMT still an awesome buy in 2026. Not the cheapest mini but pretty fast and puts a smile on everyone’s face

Stuntin like my Daddy

Redcat MT18 might have won me over from the Mini LMT with its excellent fine control and it stands up on its front. Mini LMT is very close though, but it can’t do quite this well in a small indoor arena.

Speck B brushless quick review (and micro ESC talk)

Awesome! 9+/10. The brushed (8/10, but only $85) is also excellent but the shocks are tuned better , tires are better, and steering is tighter on the brushless. Not just a motor swap. those were my only real complaints about the brushed- shocks too stiff and steering radius not quite enough for a tight MiniZ track. so currently it’s possibly the best out of the box with Micro B/T close behind it (9/10 stock) but theres much more aftermarket so that’s something to consider if you plan on upgrading. Also DumboRC now has a 10a brushed ESC for about $10 and it’s excellent for these if you wanted to run your own radio in the Losi or brushed Speck B. Afaik most every other micro brushed ESC is for crawlers and has an aggressive drag brake , OR it’s a no name POS with poor low speed control so this was a good thing to come along. They also have 3 in 1 ESC/rx/gyro in brushed and brushless flavors but the brushless shorted and broke immediately so avoid that one. Brushed 3 in 1 is good tho, meant for drifters but can work for these.

Score! $100 223s typhon from Amain?

Amain upgraded me for free! Got a $100 665 typhon cuz why not. Radio acted up. They said “we’ll have to get that one back” so I was kind of annoyed but luckily still had the box so I sent it and didn’t bother looking at the new order they processed for the replacement but sure enough it’s on purpose and a 223s BLX. If I were to guess they saw my purchase history and felt bad Lol. Or probably just ran out of 665 stock. JP at Amain, I appreciate you!

The $75 3-wheel scooter thing actually drives pretty good

Tamiya knockoff from aliexpress but they didn’t butcher it too bad at all. Kinda fast. Has spring shocks. Tight steering radius. Pretty easy to drive on flat surfaces

Sensored Minis

I did 6 motor swaps in a day! If you want sensored for your 1/12 wltoys/Rlaarlo/zd racing/Juisi- hobbywing 10bl60sd g2 with an LC racing 2845sd or rocket 390 was the most for the money at $40 for the ESC and $35-60 for the motor. For a Grom , Mini B, BHC-1, mini LMT, or Reflex 14 - Furitek does it best and they go on sale for $80 every now and then. The Grom on the end HAD a Furitek combo but it’s now in the Mini B.

I wanted to be able to brush and blow at the same time.

Helps keep the dirt outside. The Long bristles are good for getting in the shocks and driveshafts, paint brushes can work too. The little handheld blowers are sweet but this little leaf blower is about the same price as some of them, this one was $60 w 2 20v packs.

New Wltoys 1/24 2wd Truck $43

It’s good for the price. 3 wire servo , 050 motor, just like the buggy but with significantly larger wheels which helps the touchy power delivery. It’s better than the buggy but that’s not saying much. Steering and throttle are like switches and calling it proportional is a stretch imho. Great for running up and down the driveway or open carpet but put it on a track and it can be frustrating keeping between the walls. Can be fixed with aftermarket radio and motor/esc, the servo itself is decent when controlled w better electronics

Honda City Turbo sneak peak

Had to try out this kit just to see if it looks as wacky as the photos and so far it’s pretty darn close. Build incoming!

MT18 or Mini LMT? Just got the Redcat in just now and it’s easier to stunt indoors. MininLMT is a blast indoors and out but not as much fine control as the Redcat. Both had been discounted lately and both are one of a kind and a blast to bash, just figured I’d throw my 2c out there so far on the situation
