Came into work last week, and we were all told, our previous contractor sold their trucks and equipment to an already existing contractor at our terminal. Problem is they didn’t pay anyone for the last work week we’d have been with them. They started ghosting the mechanics well before that, but we didn’t find this out until recently

Anyways what options do we have as a collective, because moral is low, and the new contractor isn’t making it any better. We were told “no changes”. Not even a week later, we show up to work and everyone has a new route. Some of getting mostly apartments and businesses that are coming strictly from residential routes, and vice versa. It’s basically like starting all over again, except this time you have 100+ stops, and you’re by yourself without someone telling you the ins and outs of the route

Is it just me or does anyone else’s contractor suck. Maybe it’s just the operational manager, but he’s literally slow with everything. Everything takes 3 to 4 weeks longer than it should. I didn’t get a uniform until month two, I still haven’t gotten a log in, and I’m on month 3, it took about two months to get a badge. All of these things he held for weeks, and couldn’t make time or “forgot”

I’ve been bouncing around trucks, and they’re usually reliable, but he doesn’t communicate at all, you literally have to hunt him down for answers, and he does the bare minimum. Today I got a truck that doesn’t crank unless you press this little button thingy to put it into gear, but it doesn’t even go into gear, and I’m not about to deal with that all day

The second truck is completely dead, the seat cushion looks like two pit bulls attacked it, and I’m about an hour behind after showing up early to finish my route. Mind you neither of these trucks are the trucks I normally use. I’m about another inconvenience away from finding another contractor
