I decided to write this post in the hopes that someone can shed light on the fate of my family members. This is a copy of my great-grandfather's naturalization documents.

I added it to my tree and added transcription options for the first and last names, as I came across different spellings of them in English.

He immigrated to the United States at the beginning of the last century. For a time, he maintained correspondence with his family back in Europe. Then the correspondence stopped. His last letter was dated September 1970. In it, at an advanced age, he said goodbye to his brother, summing up his life. He had two children, Sophia and William. His daughter married a man named Joseph. They had two children: a son and a daughter. The names, unfortunately, are illegible. But the son, William, as I understand from the letters, had a conflict with his family and cut off all contact. It was his fate, as well as the fate of his possible male descendants, that intrigued me. I recently took a genetic test and discovered a Y-haplogroup that's quite unusual for Eastern Europe. Unfortunately, I have no relatives on the male side other than Austin's descendants. I desperately need to confirm that their haplogroup matches mine. Or at least reconnect with part of my family.
