Random Brunswick Line/Union Station gripes

<rant>

Does anyone know:

A) Why the Brunswick line train (at least the 4:25 one, but I assume it's the same for other trains and lines as well) departs from a different platform every day, and

B) why it's not announced (outside near the platforms) in a way that anyone can actually hear it?

Just about every day I wait just outside the doors to the platform area with everyone else and the only clue that our train is boarding is that everyone suddenly takes off power walking towards the track. Today everybody took off and went to the wrong track lol... Eventually we found it on track A17,

These trains are on the same schedule every day, so wouldn't it make sense to have them arrive/depart from the same track every day? Seems like there are way more tracks than trains at any given time, so you'd think they could go to the same track every time unless there's a delay that throws things off.

They also need a much better public address system in the platform area instead of those old megaphone type speakers that are impossible to hear or understand!

Crimson Red Pearl

Hi, all! I'm in the market for a 2026 Outback (Premium trim with OP 13), and I'm considering the Ice Silver Metallic and the Crimson Red Pearl. I haven't had a chance to see the Crimson Red Pearl in person yet, but on the website and in the printed brochure, the red looks quite dark, like a sort of brick red or maroon color. Is that the case? Can anyone who has a 2026 Outback in red post a photo of their car taken in sunlight? Thanks! I'm hoping it's more of a cherry red/fire engine red.

As I get closer to buying, I'll definitely make a point at the dealer of looking at a Crimson Red Pearl example. :-)

Red and black bug seen in Maryland

This little guy was stuck on tape attached to a box. It was very interesting looking, and I'd love to know more about it. Thanks in advance!

Accessory packages: What's the point?

I'm shopping for a new car, and as such, I've been using the "Build & Price" tool on several manufacturers' websites. As I'm configuring my potential new car, I've noticed that manufacturers often offer "packages" of accessories. For example, instead of buying the illuminated door sills and trunk sill accessories separately, you can buy them together as a package. You'd think you're getting a deal. However, after checking the prices of the individual items against the price of the package, you're paying the same (in the case of a vehicle I was just looking at, the door sill trim was $450, the trunk sill trim was $450, and the package price was $900). What's the point of that, other than to slightly reduce the amount of paperwork for the selling dealer? Wouldn't they sell more packages if buying multiple accessories together earned you a discount? Maybe separately $450 each, but $800 if you buy as a package? Or even $850?

It boggles the mind. Maybe someone here who works in new car sales can shed some light on the reasoning behind this. Thanks!
