USC's B1G opponents since playing USC

Rutgers: 47-15 loss to Indiana at home

Oregon: 17-15 loss to UCLA at home

Washington: 41-24 loss to Iowa at home

Fire Lincoln yesterday. The fact that these three teams lost (two of them uncompetitively) speaks more about the degradation of USC under Lincoln then the quality of the teams that USC played.

Fuck this sales tax increase

I’m so frustrated that Measure ER managed to pass. Now the LA city sales tax is 10.25%, one of the highest in the country. I’m not remotely confident in the healthcare access promised by this measure even being positively changed from this. Meanwhile we have OC having a 7% sales tax with better schools, roads, etc., while we have to bear the brunt of homelessness amidst a regressive tax system. Not to mention that the way that tax money is spent in this city is dubious at best, deeply corrupt at worst.

How were we duped into voting for this? This is either misleading writing or pure idiocy by the voter populace. People that voted yes on this (and especially people that endorsed voting yes on this) should be named and shamed.

VOTE NO ON ALL (edit: SALES) TAX INCREASES THIS NOVEMBER

@MirjamSwanson asked #USC head coach Lincoln Riley why Desman Stephens was on the sideline during the second half after getting ejected for his hit on Oregon QB Dante Moore. “Because he’s on our football team.”

Lincoln should be TORCHED for this response. This is not a leader of growing men, but an enabler of boys. USC should be embarrassed not only from the on field performance tonight but the lack of tact and discipline in all aspects of the program.

Kyle Tucker despite the win: 0-3, BB, 1K, 0R, 0 RBI, refused to run out a dropped strike 3

Tucker should be benched for lack of effort. Total bum being paid 300k a GAME to give no effort on a dropped strike 3. Gives no effort on defense or at the plate.

Reminds me of another former #23 for our other favorite team that never tried on defense, refused to accept his role in the ball club offensively, stole $50+ million at the expense of depth, and had a toxic relationship with the front office. Do what the lakers did this offseason and add by subtracting Andrew!

What do you think about the LA City Council voting in favor of repealing anti-camping ordinances in select areas?

There’s been a lot of talk about a recent vote by the city council to repeal anti-camping ordinances in select locations in Echo Park, Hollywood, and surrounding areas. A number of city council members (including Nithya Raman, who’s running for mayor) voted in favor of repealing. What are your thoughts?

If you are going to the Lakers/Sixers game this year, do not cheer LeBron. Boo him.

The way in which the latter half of the LeBron era transpired, and the way LeBron left this team, is egregious. After the championship, a lot of the front office moves, even if they didn't all work out, were to please LeBron (getting Russ, drafting+ signing Klutch players). He offered to take a pay cut during his time with us, but never ended up doing so. He got paid more per year, on average, than his yearly earnings in Miami and Cleveland. And what does he reward us with? A statement that said that he's willing to sign a vet min on teams NOT NAMED the Lakers. The way that this transpired should be a stain on his legacy and we should let him know about it the next time he comes into our building. He should be booed in pregame warmups, booed in team intros, booed every time he touches the ball, booed when he checks back into the game at the scorer's table, heckled at the free throw line.

That being said, Bronny should be kept and celebrated while he's wearing the purple and gold. He's on a good contract ($3 million), is a hard worker, and, from what I've seen, is humble and an excellent teammate. He should be cheered when he enters the game when the Lakers are up by 20 on Dad's squad.

Is anyone else concerned about the cyclospora outbreak in LA/SoCal?

Was reading that some regions on the east coast (DMV, NYC) and in the Midwest were experiencing outbreaks of cyclospora in lettuce, berries, etc., and it seems difficult to track (no thanks to federal budget cuts). Are you worried and potentially changing your diet over this? Does anyone know people affected by the outbreak locally?

For anyone attending the next two home games, be aware of poor air quality due to the warehouse fire in Boyle Heights.

There’s a large warehouse fire in Boyle Heights that’s causing a chemical smell around DTLA, the SGV, and nearby areas. The AQI in nearby Highland Park is close to 200 on Paku, Watch Duty, and similar apps.

Why is there very little news/government response for the Boyle Heights fire?

The Boyle Heights fire seems much more dangerous than what LAFD, news, etc. seems to indicate. Lots of chemicals, etc. being released and lots of people complaining about smell. AQI sensors also seem to have difficulties detecting certain chemicals present within the air. Why isn’t this being mentioned more in media? Does FIFA have influence over whether or not these types of news/notifications get released?

Why is Measure ER on the verge of passing?

I really don’t understand why this is about to pass. The overwhelming sentiment I see online about life in CA (SoCal in particular) is how people feel not only that the CoL is too high, but also feel that their taxpayer dollars is misused. This passing would enable this trend to continue via increasing a regressive tax. Is it due to poor or misleading wording/written description on the ballot, or do the large block of votes still yet to be processed truly believe in this tax increase?
