Please help me decorate my first apartment!

Hi! I moved into my first apartment a few months ago and I'm at the stage where I want to start decorating it, but I'm feeling a bit stuck.

I like all of my furniture and decor pieces individually, but I have no idea how to bring everything together so the space feels cohesive. It's a rental, so I'm stuck with white walls and vertical blinds. I also need to keep a grow light for my plants because I live in a fairly cold area that doesn't get enough sunlight.

So far, my plan is to:

  • Build a long wooden console table behind the couch for my plants and phone chargers (currently having this made)
  • Add some storage near the front door for shoes, keys, etc. (I'm getting rid of the white piece to the left of the couch)
  • Hang sheer white curtains over the vertical blinds

I'd love to replace my current rug (it's left over from my previous room) and add some wall art, but I can't work out what colours or style would tie everything together.

I don't want the apartment to end up looking like a generic grey apartment, but I also don't want it to feel overly colourful or busy.

I'd also prefer to buy better quality pieces from local or small businesses (where possible) rather than fast-furniture stores like Target. I'm on a budget, so it'll be a gradual process. Unfortunately, there aren't many good thrift stores near me either.

Photos are attached. I'd really appreciate any suggestions, constructive criticism, or general styling ideas. Thanks!

Hi, I’m looking to upgrade my Anker power bank and could use some advice.

I currently have the PowerCore 13000 (A1215). It’s lasted years, but it’s pretty slow to recharge and also charges my phone quite slowly now.

I mainly use it to charge my iPhone, and occasionally for my Apple Watch or AirPods when travelling.

I’m thinking of getting a 20,000mAh power bank, but I’m not sure what specs actually matter beyond capacity. For example:

  • What charging speed/output should I be looking for?
  • For models with built-in cables, do those cables tend to wear out or break over time?
  • Are there specific models people recommend?

I’d also prefer one with CCC certification logo, since I’ve transited through China before and might travel domestically there in the future.

So far I’ve been looking at:

  • Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 22.5W, built-in USB-C cable)
  • Anker Power Bank (20K, 87W, built-in USB-C cable)

Would appreciate any advice or recommendations. Thanks!
