SONAM WANGCHUK
Like many others, I've been following Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike with growing concern.
Whether or not you agree with every one of his demands, I think we can agree on one thing: no democracy should allow a peaceful protest to end in irreversible harm before meaningful dialogue begins.
A conversation costs far less than a life.
I'm not posting this to argue politics or ask people to pick sides. I'm posting because I don't want to wake up to headlines that say we waited too long.
If you feel the same:
- Sign the existing petition: https://www.change.org/p/appeal-to-consider-shri-sonam-wangchuk-s-demands-and-end-his-hunger-strike
- Write to your MP asking for immediate dialogue.
- Share verified information instead of misinformation.
- Keep the discussion respectful and focused on protecting human life.
History remembers the moments when people spoke up before it was too late—not after.
I hope all parties choose dialogue, urgency, and compassion.
