A-pillar water leak on '03 Sorento

Hi everyone,

Got a question for y'all, hopefully someone has run across this problem before and can lead me to a solution.

My wife has an '03 Sorento that she fell in love with 20 years ago and still refuses to give up! Last weekend we ran it through a car wash when suddenly water began pouring out of the "joint" between the roof liner above the driver's side window and the inner A-pillar cover. And I mean pouring! Naturally it got worse whenever the washer passed over the roof... My wife later told me it happened before when she last washed the car when I wasn't present, so this problem has been there for a few months.

I did a quick check to see if anything was out of place. All the weatherstripping as A-Ok. On the roof, the roof rack seemed to be securely bolted down. The windshield appears to be properly sealed. I did notice a black plastic strip that runs down the length of the vehicle from the windshield to the trunk, I guess that's there for looks, but I didn't try removing it to look underneath. And truth be told, I'm afraid it's so old and brittle it might break if I attempt to remove it.

Anyway, has anybody else run across something like this? If so, where did the leak originate and how did you fix it?

Change DNS on G5AR?

Hi y'all,

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered a 1000 times already, but here goes anyway...

Can you change the default DNS server on the G5AR? If so, how?

Oh, and a second question... I have a TP-Link AXE75 router connected to my gateway as an access point. Coverage throughout the house is excellent. Checking the settings on the router, it's current set with a dynamic IP so it won't let me enter a default DNS server. If I change the setting to static IP, I can enter a different DNS server. Bottom line, if I want to set 8.8.8.8 as my default DNS server, shall I change the setting on the router to static IP and enter this setting as my DNS server? And if I do, does it matter since the router is an access point for the gateway that has its own DNS setting?

Stick up cam gen3 won't wake up

I have a gen3 Stick Up cam that stopped working after I relocated it. It worked fine in the original location - note it has a battery and was also plugged in. After I took it down, I removed the battery to make sure it was fully charged before I mounted the camera in a new location. After reinstalling the battery and plugging it in, the camera failed to "wake up". I tried the usual resetting tricks (unplug and remove the battery for a few minutes, holding the reset button down for 20+ seconds, & tapping the reset button quickly several times), but none of these have re-awakened the camera. The Ring app, of course, reports the device as being off-line.

Other than powering it down after I removed it from the original mount, I haven't done anything "different" with this cam.

Any better ideas on how to wake it up?

No 6GHz band "visible" with G5AR

We recently replaced our older gateway with the G5AR. During the set-up, I selected all bands (2.4, 5, and 6). After the set-up, I ran a wifi scan to see the available bands. I can clearly see the 2.4 and 5GHz bands, but I do not see the 6GHz band. Note that I'm using a Moto Edge+ 2023 smartphone (Wifi7 capable) for these scans and that prior to the change to the G5AR we were using a tri-band router and that my phone "saw" and could connect to the 6GHz band without issues. I'm using the Wifi Analyzer and WifiMan apps for these scans. Is there a problem with our new gateway? If not, why is my smartphone not "seeing" the 6GHz band?

2003 Sorento Brake and Ck Engine lights on

My wife just called and told me that the red brake warning light and check engine light were on in her 2003 Sorento while she's driving to work. Any ideas on what might have caused both of them to light up? Are they related?
