GERD, esophageal spasm, or something else?

Hi everyone! I'm a 26-year-old male and I've been dealing with some recurring episodes of chest/back pain that I'm trying to understand. It has been on and off for some years, but right now the episodes are becoming more and more often.

The pain is usually behind my sternum but radiates much more intensely between my shoulder blades. Sometimes the back pain is actually worse than the chest pain. No cardiac or pulmonary problems.
A few things I've noticed It often starts after eating at night. It's much more likely to happen when I lie down. But I don't have other GERD symptoms. I've tried alginate/antacid products during these episodes. Sometimes they help, but other times they don't seem to make much difference. The episodes usually last anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours.

What confuses me is that the pain is often more noticeable in my upper back between the shoulder blades than in the front of my chest. That makes me wonder whether this is still typical GERD, an esophageal spasm, or something else related to the esophagus.

Has anyone here experienced something like this? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences and what your eventual diagnosis was (GERD, esophagitis, esophageal spasm, hiatal hernia, etc.). Thanks!

Lyric from “Goodbye to All That”

I always thought he said and I always used to sing it this way:

“Goodbye to all of that
Goodbye to that part of your life”

But it’s actually:

“Goodbye to that
Goodbye to all of that artifact”

Am I the only one? I was so shocked when I read the lyrics 😅

A question about “The Dare” lyrics

Does she say: “You don't love me anymore, but I know how to make it happen” or “but I don’t have to make it happen”?
