What Does Bombette Say if you hit her in the Crystal Palace (the Duplighost Scene)?

I've searched all over the internet for clips of what happens in the 3 Duplighost scenes (Kooper, Bombette and Kooper again) when you hit the real one. (Paper Mario 64, Chapter 7)

I've only seen the dialogue when you hit the real Koopers. None for hitting the real Bombette. I know that when you hit the real Bombette, you fight all of the Duplighosts, but what does Bombette say when you hit her? Is there a clip online that I'm missing?

Tips for playing in the really high positions (3-octave scales starting on G-string)

So, like the title says, I'm trying to practice 3-octave scales starting on G-string Notes (G, A-flat, A, B-flat, B). My teacher (who was really a Violinist that doubled to teaching Viola just to make money) insists on keeping my thumb on the neck heel. My fingers can't really reach that far, even when holding the Viola angled up (my teacher suggested I do it that way). I just can't seem to press the strings hard enough to make the note sound good in that range. I play on a Tertis Replica, one of the mid-range violas of the particular shop. Not a Fine Viola, but not a beginner/intermediate viola either.

What are some resources I can refer to about this?

I just got my JieGle Triple...

I did make a post asking about the best MultiChambered Ocarinas besides ICO, and someone recommended JieGle. It seemed to have great reviews, so I figured I would go ahead and get one.

Let me just say for $105, and plastic, it's okay. It's decently in-tune, and not like those Ocarinas of Crap from Amazon. This Website has JieGle in stock.

What I don't like about it.

  1. D and E-flat in the first chamber are very low-breath and breathy. In order to make it sound good, you need the acute bend. I think this is a trade-off as there isn't a breath cut from Low C down to low A

  2. The thumb holes situation. This uses a thumb hole instead of double holes for the pointer finger on the first chamber. The thumb hole placement is a bit awkward (not centered) so the Ocarina isn't very balanced. Also, the 3rd chamber has tuning holes where the thumb should be, which can be avoided if you put your thumb on the edge of the "divit" that the 2nd chamber thumb hole is on, but if your thumb is a bit "fleshy" like mine, you may still accidentally cover the holes. I'd also like to point out that by going that route, the Ocarina might also not feel balanced.

  3. In the 2nd Chamber, the sub-hole brings the Ocarina down to a D. I don't know if it was a screw-up on the Ocarina they sent me, or if that's how it's meant to be. To get E-flat, I just lift my Pinky. I guess, that's the saving grace since the D and E-flat on the first chamber is very breathy.

Breath curves seem to be okay, though a part of me swears that the curve from the 2nd to the 3rd chamber requires a sudden dip. That seems to be the case with almost all Triples I have. (Basically my custom ICO Alto C Triple, but not my custom ICO Bass C Triple).

This is decent for a $105 Plastic Triple, but the only way I'd be using it is playing it outside, and playing it for students. I wouldn't even play it for travel.

Any US Distributors of Focalink/Stein that stock the Forte Triple Alto C?

I'm intending to purchase a Forte Triple Alto C. I understand that in the Stein/Focalink website, I'm buying directly from where they are located (can't remember off the top of my mind) so shipping costs are in play. I'm hesitant to buy from other countries just because in my area, FedEx, UPS, and USPS are notorious for delivering packages to the wrong address, and I've found that when dealing with U.S. sellers/distributors, it's easier to file claims.

Does anyone know any U.S. distributors of the Forte Triple Alto C?

Difference between Focalink Forte and Focalink Regular Multi-Chambers?

I am rather new to the world of Focalink Multi-chambers. I know that Focalink/Stein has several different types now, but back then for a while it was regular (Dolce?) and Forte.

An acquaintance of mine was downsizing, and they were selling a Focalink Double, and I of course bought it. What I wanted to know is how can I tell if it is the regular or the Forte? There doesn't seem to be an indicator of either, it just has AC on the front along with Stein's logo. I can't acquire another Ocarina to compare it to. I've heard that Dolces have a flat right hand plane, while Fortes do not. Is that correct? I know that Fortes are bigger and have wider windways, etc. However, is there a way to tell the difference just by looking at the Ocarina without comparing?

Making Glenn Schultz style Whistles out of PVC

Do you all think it is possible?

Now, I do not think that anyone can recreate his whistles in their entirety of sound, and all that, etc.

However, what intrigues me is the design. All PVC whistles I have seen up until I saw the "Water Weasel" ones had the "tube and cap" design (like Low Tech Whistles) while Mr. Schultz's design looks like a singular tube, and every joint is flush with each other.

Anyone have insights about how he would make his PVC whistles like this? I didn't think that it was possible to make PVC whistles look like that.

I am wanting to make pvc whistles on my own, and have done the same with very little equipment in the past. My goal is to start with the "tube and cap" design and then attempt to try Mr. Schultz's design.

What is the best way to reach out asking if I am on the Blacklist?

CONTEXT:

The previous year, I ran into an issue with a particular school in an ISD, (It was my first year being a SPED Para, some of you remember my posts back then) and the Admin tried to blackball me across the state of Texas. Per recommendations of people here in this Sub Reddit, I applied for other teaching jobs as a "teacher of no experience" and didn't mention that SPED Para job. Turns out, I'm not meant to be a SPED Para. I currently teach at a Charter School, and completed my Internship Year there, and now, I'm a Certified Teacher.

I looked at the Website of the District I had left, and saw they would be having a job fair, and several schools had openings in my particular field (Upper Elementary Science, Social Studies and ELAR). I am considering applying, but here's the thing. I do not know if the principals in that school put me on the Blacklist for the district. When they told me they wouldn't extend an Intent to return letter, they told me, "If you resign, you will part on good terms with the district, and we'll give you good references". So my naïve self believed them, and I signed the resignation form. It was obvious they lied about a lot of things. That school will not be in the job fair because they have no vacancies.

Should I apply to the other schools in that ISD? How would I go about inquiring if I am on the blacklist?

For those who are wondering: No, nothing illegal happened. There were situations at that work where students always misbehaved, and it was just me and several other paras plus another teacher who went in and out, watching them (this was situations like holding rooms during dismissal, and cafeteria). Any time food/items would be thrown, or a kid would be fighting, etc. and I'd catch it, I'd project my voice to get their attention (because it was ridiculously loud). Administrators didn't pull me out about this until there was 6 weeks left. They told me "Parents complain about you, and you are using a harsh tone. You should be gentle with the kids, since some of them are not as reactive." By then, it was already too late since things were set in stone, and there wasn't any time for improvement. I asked if there were examples and neither the head Principal nor the Appraiser AP could name them. They just said "Multiple Parents and Teachers said this." In retrospect, from my experience being a teacher where there are a lot more behavior issues, there were things I'd do differently, but at that point, it was my first year ever trying that job out. I contacted former coworkers (M and F) who put their resignation in mid-year, and turns out, the way the Admin treated them was similar to how they treated me. Eagle-eying them based on "Tone", mentioning "Parents and Teachers Complaining". Not giving them an adequate chance to defend themselves, etc. Then when they left, people who replaced them were suspiciously "family friends" with the Admin.

Weird situation about reporting my PPR score

My PPR score was scheduled to be released today. My ACP emailed me and told me "You've passed". However, TEAL and Pearson still says "Pending".

I am a bit concerned that it's a false pass, and that my ACP received incorrect information. Usually, Pearson and TEAL update first before my ACP receives my scores. .

I tried contacting Pearson, and apparently there's a delay. What's weird is that if there's a delay, why did my ACP receive it?

My Testing computer glitched before I could say "Report my Scores"

So, I took one of the required exams today, and went to a Pearson testing center, that I selected from the Pearson website.

I got through the exam, and after checking all my answers, clicked "End Test". I clicked confirm "End Test" Then I got taken to the usual screen that says I'll have the option to cancel or report my scores in the next screen. I clicked "Next" then the screen turned black and sais "Working, please do not power off" then had a pop off "system administrator error. exception when starting the test". I reported it to the person who administered/distributed (basically the person working front desk), and she pulls out a sheet of paper that was my receipt. She said "The system generated this. They wouldn't have if your scores were cancelled". I tried explaining that I was supposed to get taken to the screen where I was supposed to select report my scores. I showed her the computer (which still had a black screen) and she just held the power button down.

I really hope my scores did not get cancelled. I'd be mad if they did.

For those that cancelled scores, did you receive a sheet of paper with your name, ID#, Registration # etc. as well? Did your testing History at Pearson say "Cancelled" for that attempt? Mine says "Pending".

Am I ready to take PPR?

So, I've been using 240, Mercedes Quizlet, and a few videos recommended by people to study. Today, I decided to take Pearson's PPR Practice Exam and here were my results:

https://preview.redd.it/oa8bxexmdl4h1.png?width=3228&format=png&auto=webp&s=5d03ad99381e2ca7666841a6750b6251e1b85642

This was a lot higher than I thought I would get. Does this mean I'm ready to take the PPR? I read a few posts on FB groups where people also scored all Greens, but still failed. A few weeks back, I got a 72 on 240's PPR Practice Exam. I've since studied the topics again, but haven't retaken it.

Difference between Focalink/Stein Model A, Model B and Model C?

I was browsing the Stein Ocarina Website, and I saw that for Alto and Soprano Models, there are different Models. Model A, Model B, and Model C (I think the Alto C goes up to Model G, while Soprano only has Model B and C).

What is the difference between the Models? All I can see is that Model A seems to be larger around the left-hand area, where as C is very narrow. What else is the difference?

Best Multi-Chambered Ocarinas besides ICO?

Hello:

So, I'm looking to expand my Ocarina collection beyond my initiall custom TAC and TBC from Imperial City Ocarina. Unfortuantely, it seems ICO is unable to fulfill orders like before, and likely my kind of order will be refused. Very sad for me as Song Wei is a Master at this.

The other maker I was going to buy from is Pure Ocarinas, but I have been informed that production has been stopped there.

Anyone know of good makers? I am shying away from STL since from my experience, their Ocarinas have had burrs in the windways causing squeaks and sound inconsistencies.

Here is the main thing I am looking for:

  1. Smooth Breath Curves. Any Ocarina that requires a sudden change when going from Chamber 1 to Chamber 2 or from Chamber 2 to Chamber 3 is defective in my opinion.

  2. Chamber Balance. Let's face it. It's annoying if the two chambers have different tones.

  3. Volume. I prefer Volume to be on the Forte End with higher breath requirements.

Are there any other brands or makers who can make high-quality instruments?

So, I made a post about cheating the diminished row on French 3+3 system. Someone suggested I try to get used to building the dexterity for the minor 3rd stretch. I am a 4-3 user, which apparently puts me on the minority. 3-2 feels a bit weird to me.

I've found that it's a bit hard to use the Pinky for the minor 3rd stretch, as its knuckles tend to hit the buttons. If I do make my hand move up to where the pinky doesn't do that, it is hard to go back to the root and 5th, due to the weird angle of my hand. It also doesn't help that genetically, my pinky is crooked and angled inward.

Do we use the pinky for that minor 3rd stretch? Or do we use the ring? I have tried the ring, the difficult part is that I do use the ring finger for the root (since I am a 4-3 player).

What are some of you all's advice about this? Should I switch to 3-2?
