What edge worked for you in the past but no longer does?

Was inspired to ask this question after listening to one trader on a podcast. He talked about a specific pattern of lot entries that occurred regularly at a certain part of the day that he was able to exploit, that ended up completely disappearing once the Ukraine-Russia war began.

Things to bear in mind before going pro?

Hey everyone!

I have created a strategy with extensive backtesting results that I truly believe in, paired with a robust risk management plan, and I am currently forward testing with the plan of buying an ftmo account next month.

I'm not entirely new to prop trading, having tried a failed strategy last year, so I know the basic operations. I have also been learning how to trade over the past 5-6.

I had previously neglected journaling my trades beyond writing down the basic entry/exit price and pnl etc. This is something I've really been focusing on improving this year and it has already helped a lot. If successful, this could potentially be the first time I actually see decent payouts. Outside of prop trading, I have only ever paper-traded, plus the £500 I had put in at one point just to test the waters with real money.

Really I wanted to ask if you guys have any tips or advice that I might not have thought about or overlooked?

So, what happens when you figure it out?

I mean getting to the point where you are consistently profitable (not bleeding money long term), what does it look like to go from being an unprofitable or break-even trader, to finally figuring out how to make consistent gains long term?

For context I haven't had much going for me career-wise, but after 5 years of learning and refining my trading, I feel like I'm finally turning a corner. It feels like what I was meant to do, and all the pieces are slowly coming together.

I'm very well aware that the gains come inconsistently, but I'm just wondering what life will be like to be able to earn money from trading, on top of a below-average salary.

How do I effectively build shoulders with a rotator cuff injury?

Looking to temporarily switch out overhead movements while my shoulder stabilises. Also temporarily switched out bench press and flies for the machines for the same reason.

The other day, my brother stopped off to visit with his kids shortly before I left for work. I put on my gear and said goodbye. My youngest niece, who is such a sweetheart, immediately rushes from the living room to the front room.

I got my bike a few years back when she was just four. I let her and my other niece and nephew blip the throttle. She ripped it a little too hard and got frightened when the engine revved loudly.

That day I spotted her peeking from behind the windows as I was wheeling my bike out to take off. Gave her a little wave and rode off.

That moment felt really nice. I wonder how she'll remember it when she grows up. I myself used to be dead scared of the motorbikes with loud exhausts growing up (I'm autistic, still use my stock exhaust), but grew to be incredibly fascinated by them.

Not saying I *want* my youngest niece to be riding sports bikes but if she does, I'll remember this moment very fondly.
