Starting a new job in event sales. This company hosts conferences, exhibitions, webinars etc and I’ll be working to sell spaces/tickets.

I used to work as an event organiser/manager previously and I did med dev sales before that (really trying to get back into that some day). For now I am trying my hand at this career and I wanted to know how it’s going for anyone in this line of work?

What helps you make the most sales? How are you getting leads? What are people valuing the most? I’d be really interested in hearing some stories. Even just to ease my anxiety about going into something new.

Hey all,

Not sure if this is the best place to get advice but my partner has just had an email to say that her universal credit is stopping because of the amount she has in her savings. These are funds that she can’t touch without facing a penalty.

Also, apparently they weren’t made aware of these savings and so my partner is having to face paying them back nearly years worth of universal credit.

My partner is severely disabled, unable to work, she does get PIP if that makes a difference, she isn’t married, she’s living at home.

Any advice on what we can do?
