An amazing getaway / adventure vehicle!

Our RX has been an amazing getaway vehicle - most recently to the bike trails this month. Either my family of 5 (with a double bike trailer) at a local state park and this weekend I hit the mountain bike single tracks solo.

Installed the hitch myself along with the Lexus "tow converter" to utilize the factory installed trailer wiring. The time and effort have been totally worth it, for the hitch mounted bike rack and storage box we own and the times I've rented a uhaul trailer.

Amazing day trip!

Had the day off on Friday, drove 45 minutes each way to my favorite mountain bike park in the best vehicle I've ever owned/driven (our 2025 Lexus RX450h+) and spent a couple hours on the trails. Beautiful day and weather. The Lexus RX450h+ is such a treat to drive, so quiet, smooth and the lane tracing assistance helps those highway miles fly by.

As a previous RAV4 Prime owner and current Lexus RX PHEV owner, I am always checking out the latest r/rav4prime posts and searching this community, as I had nowhere else to find helpful Lexus PHEV information available in this amazing subreddit (the NX & RX PHEVs have a nearly identical PHEV drivetrain as the RAV4 Prime).

Taking inspiration from this community, I've recently created r/LexusPHEV for any Lexus RX450h+ , NX450h+ and TX550h+ owners, a place to share pictures, stories of our amazing vehicles and for current and hopefully owners to ask questions.

Lexus RX450h+ - 9 months and 7,000 miles - I love this vehicle!

We purchased our 2025 Lexus RX 450h+ in July 2025, trading in our 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime.

Since they share a nearly identical PHEV drivetrain, I wanted to share my experience making the jump! I've been a Toyota guy my entire life, and it's been awesome joining the Lexus family. The RAV4 Prime was a fantastic vehicle that I still miss sometimes. It was perfect when we were a family of four, but we recently welcomed our third child and needed more space.

Why my family loves the RX PHEV:

* More Space: The RX is noticeably wider in the second row. We have enough room for all three kids and their car seats to fit comfortably, even on long road trips! We have a teenager and two kiddos in Diono Radian car seats, one forward facing and the other rear facing.

* Ride Quality: The RX is significantly more comfortable, smooth, and quiet inside than the RAV4. The RX Luxury seats are truly an upgrade with the thigh extenders and just the right amount of padding.

The RX is already an amazing vehicle on its own, but the flexibility and gas-saving convenience of the PHEV drivetrain is just the icing on the cake.

Happy to answer any questions about fitting car seats across the back and the accessories/customizations I've completed on our RX.
