If The Narrative Says Everything is Blitzos Fault and Stolas Is Innocent... Why does it Want Them Together?

So after the new song dropped I kinda had a revelation. Yes its been discussed to death of how Stolitz is a relationship based on sexual coercian and there's nothing to it besides fetishization and the show pretending it has amazing depth and is consenual.

But even in the gaslit universe the show thinks we live in why does it want them together? Like the show frames Blitzo as an unjustified asshole to Stolas who's needless cruel and all Stolas wants is love even after he ruined his life for him and according to Viv they aren't dating so how am I supposed to read it.

If Blitzo is the one completely at fault and Stolas is a saint why would I want the "best boi" to end up with a guy who makes everything worse for him. Wouldn't if I fully believed what the show was selling, wouldn't I want these characters to break up so they can become better people and best character Stolas can just be himself and go through character development.

Like knowing how predictable Viv is and the fandom even with the love triangle set up next season.... Everyone with a brain knows Viv is too attached to her ideas and literally has ruined her reputation and the show's rep by double downing on this relationship that I know damn well she's not going to have Stolas run off with Vassago. Endgame is still Stolitz despite her own framing indicating these two bring out bad shit for each other. Despite the fact it would actually be the most benefical writing on all fronts because now the rapist and victim aren't with each other and it lines up with the accidental framing of them being incompatible.

How Fairy Type Made Ice Type Obsolete

So after some thinking about ice type's role in the game pre gen 6 it's slowly dawned on me that fairy type has kinda ended up harming it's role so i wanted to discuss it.

Ice's role as Dragon Killer

So a big thing that a lot of people point out is ice type's have too many weaknesses to justify how late in games they show up. And on a surface level I get it especially when a lot of water types already have access to ice moves. However the point from a game design perspective is the fact it was the only other type that could cut through dragon's already high resistences to most elemental types. However the ice type's massive amount of weaknesses was also serving a balancing act to not make them too OP.

This is partially why they show up late in games since by that point you will actually begin to or about to face Dragon trainers and most dragon types are few or much more rarer to get pre gen 6 and it comes with the caveot if your using dragon type moves to get the STAB bonus your opponent probably also has Dragon type moves.

Basically both of Dragon's weaknesses were built with a kinda high risk/high reward strategy in different directions.

Fairy kinda fucks with that synergy because there isnt anything high risk about bringing one out.

Fairy's outshines too much

As I was saying while i love fairy type and i think its brought mostly benefits to the type match up it kinda just ruins Dragon having any other weaknesses besides it. For example you still have to wait awhile to get access to ice types and while they have compensated in giving some lower tier dragons early your not gonna get the full benefit of its stab.

Add in a lot of game post its introduction give you fairy type pretty early on than Dragon's other weaknesses. And Fairy also has utility against more common types such as dark and fighting that it genuinely makes no sense to put an ice type on your team unless some niche scenarios happen such as lacking an electric type or really liking the pokemon.

Like genuinely if you have a fairy type which show up much earlier and has better utility than Dragon's other weakness and doesnt come with high risk/high reward strategy what is the point of ice type even existing? It lack a niche now completely so its just kinda here. Especially with its immunity making it even better and more reliable. But from a balance thing yes this pulls from dark and ground but i feel the situations are different. Ground is literally electrics only weakness and electric types or their moves are common so ground has a very specific niche which lets it shine a lot more than it wouldve had if electric had more weaknesses or it didnt get the electric immunity. Dark is a weird situation since it stems from psychics weaknesses in gen 1 kinda sucking. Like even ignoring the programming error that made psychic immune to Ghost the only Ghost line was part poison which means bringing them out is unintended high risk strategy and weirdly ghost moves were physically when even by gen 2 none of the ghosts were built for that. Heck you cant even get misdrevous until Red. Then your other option was bug but bug moves sucked and the strongest one was on beedril whos part poison. And even in gen 2 when bugs got a boost Heracross still needs a shit ton of levels to get megahorn and is part fighting and scizor you have to trade and is mainly good due to steel type. Dark only exists in its current state due to a lot of development fuckups making psychic accidentally too strong.

Fairy did not exist because of development fuck ups and Dragons prior weaknesses existed with a clear intent on how they worked mechanically. But fairy debalances it that now ice types have to find a new niche because rn they have no purpose. Not even for water types who get ice moves unless you through Starmie at a grass type for some reason. Sure the Snow weather affect is a whole lot more useful than what hail was for them. But at this point either gamefreak needs to give ice more resistences to make them have a point in existing.

BookApple is Not the Same Character as ShowApple, the Books are Clearly Different Continuities

So whenever I see discussions about the show and Apple's characterization and how she doesn't deserve the hate because insert book lore. I just for over a decade have always side eyed it since it was very clear to me when I picked up the first book as a teenager they obviously were different canons.

Yes I'll admit here and now Shanon Hale clearly had access to early concepts or show bible stuff considering protoGinger Breadhouse, Faybelle and Darling appear in the books waaaaaaaaay earilier than the show but even then we can see wild characterization differences between Faybelle and Darling in the books. Like BookFaybelle would NEVER team up with Raven's mom. Which leads to discussions of the fact the Evil Queen's rampage in the books is a lessoned exclusively to Wonderland in the show and the reason Raven is terrified by her destiny reflection is due to Evil Queen's anctics Raven is now bound to do the take over every story thing..... I'm pretty sure we can agree 100% that lore thing isn't in the show at all of like any time you divert you fuck up your descendants forever?

So why is Apple's different characterization considered the canon one? ShowApple is a very confident person and never mentions her insecurities related to her status as the next Snow White as a personal thing. Her insecurities only come up when Raven defies fate because Raven's choices fuck her over. Not because of anything directly personal to Apple. And then when you do get personal stuff revealed its Snow White putting pressure on Apple and the well backstory isn't ever mentioned here either. And again Snow White doesnt bring up Apples specific status as the next Snow White and not looking the part which with how much an asshole ShowSnow White is you'd think she would.

Heck later in the show the whole moral issue that gets revealed that Apple has with Raven going rogue is even if they don't cease to exist now who knows what happens next.

Shushutan = Shiruku Theory

So with the recent character design discussions and this theory already in the back of my mind I decided to make a post about it.

Where Shiruku breaks the Pattern of the Others

First things first what led to think on this was the fact of how OBVIOUS Shiruku is at being an Eclair candidate but I don't think despite this being a kids show they'd make it that obvious with how the season is encouraging critical thinking.

So all the girls in Star Detective have their hair color change significantly enough that Shiruku having the exact blue hair as Eclair breaks that too much

Now I know people will bring up Shiruku's name is literally Sherlock but given japanese pronunciation and her full name references House of Silk... Which lines up with the naming rule of the girls all having their names inspired by famous detectives....

Except Shiruku breaks the rule because her FIRST name is Sherlock! The other girls' LAST NAMES are where the direct references lie. And it would be pretty dumb for Toei who clearly want to give red herrings for Eclair to be that obvious once someone gets the theme.

The Evidence

I remember we don't know where Shushutan is during this. You would think if Eclair is MIA they'd be looking for her or MIA herself.

Then I look at the name similarities and the design ones. Shiruku's hair kinda looks like Shushutan's tail especially in the exact same shape language.

Then with the recent reveal Shushutan is based off a Tanuki which are often associated with illusion and disguise in Japan in addtion to Shiruku's catchphrase....

Sherlock is a master of disguise which lines up well with Shiruku being an actor and Shushutan's tanuki inspo. And who's to say Eclair isn't... based on Watson instead?

SHIRUKU TIES HER HAIR UP WITH A PINK BAND AND SHUSHUTAN HAS A PINK BOW IN THE BACK

So Why is Shushutan Pretending to Be A Normal Human?

I have two different theories:

She's trying to find Eclair by becoming famous enough that Eclair would catch her on TV or a newspaper and meet up with her

or

She's acting as a body double for Eclair and actually trying to lure out the Phantom Thieves to target her. Either to distract them to buy Eclair time or to find out what they are planning in plane sight.
