Switch from G6 to G7

I'm sharing my experience switching from the G6 to G7. I was a little nervous about G7 having seen numerous complaints since its release. So I want share my success so others who are as hesitant as I've been in making the change may feel encouraged. I'm holding hope for continued success, fingers crossed. I will share how it's going from time to time.

The switch was easy as far as installing the new app and pairing the new sensor with my pixel phone & the Tandem Mobi Android app. From a relaxed pace, it took about 20 mins. Then my BG, after the 30 minute warm up: G7 93, finger poke 95. Boom! Placement: top of thigh, close to the inside, to make room on the other side for the pump (patch & case) & infusion sets over the next 10 days. I've opted to not use the sensor's over-patch unless the sensor adhesive starts to come loose at the edges. G7 mfg date 2/2026, Malaysia.

Did Mobi Control IQ 7.9.1 update several days ago not knowing the updated software now works with Dexcom G7 15-day. Tandem didn't note this news on my email or my source page which said the update was available.

And I submitted a 90-day order of G7 10-day right after, which I received not knowing of this change. Ugh! I guess I should've done more research. I only found out the new software works with the G7 15-day because someone posted about it here on Reddit. Then I verified it's true. Oh well, live & learn.

I have a couple of weeks left on my final G6 transmitter, then I'll be getting to see how the G7 10-day works for me. Wish me luck. I've read the 15-day sensors have better accuracy, so I'll find out in a few months.

Everything, Everywhere, All At Once

What a convergence! My G6 sensor has just expired, my Mobi insulin & battery are low, and I really need to upgrade my Android phone from OS 15 to 16 BEFORE OS17 beta is released! I couldn't update my phone before, because Dexcom never updated the G6 app. I've been on Mobi for 2 months and I've learned I can operate the G6 from the Mobi app. So, Yay! Here I go: Update my pixel 9 phone’s OS, change G6 sensor, and new Mobi cartridge/ infusion set, in that order, hopefully with no complications. My fingers are crossed. Wish me luck… Or any sage advice is greatly appreciated. Been T1D 36 years - my dependence on my phone & all this tech is a love-hate thing.

My 1st time using the Mobi sleeve & 5" tubing - Oy! Do these sleeves survive showers?

I plan to remove the Mobi & tubing from the sleeve & infusion set in order to shower. Will the sleeve hold up to getting wet & a little soapy? I used skin tac to help it adhere better. I used to have Omnipod 5 and I was a little shocked at the appearance of all this gear.
