Friday vibes

SCORPIONS, Love at first sting. 1984 banned cover. Never knew about that. Yamaha px3 100% just needs a paint and platter polish. The Yamaha CG 6500 cart is a Audio Technica 11e or 12e... Anyway plays great. Got it out to start polishing out the scratches.

Technics SLQL1 IN Black

Scorpions Blackout, 82 copyright. Love this album. My cruising Sunset cassette on a Saturday night in 85. So I finally got A black SLDL1. It was dirty and untested with paint splatter on it. The paint is water based so it will come off. This is the first linear I have purchased that works 100% right out of the box. It's actually in excellent condition. 175.00 all in shipping and tax. I'll clean it up and do a service, put a Technics p153 cart on it with a new elipical nude evg stylus. Almost can't kill them. Just amazingly reliable.

Friday vibes

Boston, Boston. I got the QL-A7 a few, 3, years ago for 165.00 shipped working for parts. Plinth is beat. I was going to pull the TT-71 table out of it for a 2 arm table but the stock arm is just solid. All metal solid. So fixed the cue damping ( took 45 min). I'll look for something else. Cart is Stanton 681eee with Pickering Micro 4 stylus.

Laying in my truck back seat for 2 years.

They were mint, just need a cleaning now . The rods were toast. A one year only Garcia Mitchell 308 with the ceramic spool. That's a 1977. The Ryobi is a 1978 powerful 2. Size wise it squeaks in. They were dream reels when I was a kid. I need to appreciate things more. They were laying in my truck backseat floor for 2 years.

Px3 100%

Man, read the directions, I thought the up ff or rr buttons were worn out. So like a big ape I was just jamming on them and they wouldn't work. Turns out they are 3 way buttons with a dwell built in so yes, that's in the directions. And I yes I'm "a big dummy" I'm looking for the stock mc stylus so that's why I'm not using the stock headshell. The at lh13 ooc headshell works perfectly and the finger lift screws off.

Yamaha GT 1000

Playing the double 45 Rumors from 2009. Really nice records. This thing weighs so much... you don't want to work on it. But you need to. I think they wanted 580.00 for it with no weights or feet or well everything. So I complained that I'll never find the parts and got it for 515.00 shipped from Japan. I found feet for 75.00 shipped. Had the weights from a junk arm. Made the button covers at work. They are not exact but I wasn't tearing apart my 750 for exact measurements. I charged myself 100 for 3 sets of those button covers. Machined bead blasted aluminum. I'm still trying to get all the tape residue off it. I was going to refinish it but no. It's like playing with a 50lb bag of concrete.

Accessories I like.

And some to stay away from. Most Audio Technica, Nagaoka and especially Supex are literally the best. If I'm on a break from buying tables, I'm looking for accessories. I just purchased this Supex pg1 stylus gage to go with the Supex HL 26 bubble level. Look for deals. I paid 60 for both shipped. Avoid accessories from Memorex, Realistic, Recoton. The Micro Seiki dust arm is kind of not the greatest and goes for a Benjamin. Post and ask before you buy.

Maybe I should upgrade to a at120xabcdefg. Waaaa, it looks old. My arm goes the wrong way, can I upgrade my Chinese cart with a Shibata. I'm new to turntables so excuse my lack of effort. Anyway 215.00 shipped from japan with a 20 dollar stylus last year. I need to upgrade. It's so complicated.

Van Halen Fair warning. Videos are annoying. So the Denon Dp 3000 with its 4th tonearm. The Grace g707. Great arm. Cart is a Nagaoka 30 with a new 500 stylus. Too heavy by a large amount. Took a lot to get it going. The arm hates the cart, the table hates the arm. Sounds pretty nice but I got work to do. Really dig the cart, best mm so far.
