Who can help finish charting this world-building trend line?

It seems there is a historical trend of ever-expanding world building over the last say 100 years or so. The world's imagined seem to expand (or contract, see 80s below) at a non linear rate through real time decades of writing. So which authors continue this trend?

Start Edit: adding requested clarification to the question. By expand I mean be described and fleshed out in greater detail while expanding in sophisticationn from "little green men" to expansive new ideas (like, commenters mention, Diaspora, Eon, Hyperion etc.).

We fell in love with Tuscany last fall and spent a few hours in Buccine. It seems so charming and practical. Any advice, observations or comments are most appreciated!

There are a lot of common negative expressions. What are the top 3 positive expressions?

As I get older I find my inner dialogue gets much more of my attention and I find it's often preferable to external conversations. Does anyone else feel this? Also I often find myself in an internal conversation about my surroundings and miss the very surroundings I'm contemplating (e.g. beautiful scenery around me; my grandkids playing on the swings, etc). Like exactly now as I sit next to a tranquil lake with all attendant bird and insect noises, etc, I'm thinking about this concept! Wfh

The intent is to keep it as simple as possible using out of the box commands. However a little bit of XData could work.
