Any dual catch can installs on the 2.0T in here?

Hey all was going to attempt a dual catch can install of these Evil Energy ones (yes I bought upgraded fuel/oil/heat resistant tubing), but having a hell of a time finding a schematic for the 2.0. Mine’s a 2019. Found some for a stinger 2.0 but engine layout is a bit different. I’m not gonna risk a screw up ;-) Anyone have a manual or link for two cans (both breathers)?

Well that escalated quickly…

Thanks for your input on the other thread. Was driving it over to mechanic to get that clutch pedal judder looked at, and then it started really juddering, then squealing, then screaming, then grinding, then smelling like burnt underwear (don’t ask how I know). All within seconds and I barely made it off the off-ramp to a parking lot. I could get angry that I didn’t go “sensible” vs “fun”, but I made a choice. It really did bring a smile to my face for the few days I drove it - it’s like my old NB miata - just with two more seats and a real roof. Clutch is very similar. Except the miata’s never exploded ;-)

Nice surprise

Mechanic was checking out my latest purchase (the mini) and called this out. He was wondering why it felt faster than others he drove - especially at 2500+ rpm…

So… I did a thing… thanks

Picked her up today from a mini fanatic friend. 2011 cooper S. 88k km on dial. Treated well, maintained well. Was debating striping but I kinda like the all in your face blue. Will install 2 catch cans and hi-flow dry filter (if not cold air intake, but $$$). And walnut blast. Quick thanks to those that gave advice ;-)

“Death rattle” paranoia

Thank you all for installing the fear of God in me, and now I am trying to figure out what the heck I should be listening for when it comes to the “death rattle“. My G 70 makes standard valve clacking noises, as do most other cars. But now I’m second-guessing if this sound is the beginning of the end ;-) I am looking to purchase a low mileage 2011 N18 two-door Cooper S that has been very well maintained. It is at 89,000 km forgive me for kind of reposting something that I had questions about in another thread, but I need this to get as many eyeballs as possible. Actually as many ears as possible ;-) the attached video clip is of the car with the hood open, and the right side/driver side of the engine is making more noise than the passenger side. From what I understand, it should be a very obvious noise from the passenger side. The AC was run, and then not run for a comparison. Really appreciate your input, and thanks in advance.

Let’s talk timing chains

If I’m considering an older mini purchase, my initial discussions with dealers and mechanics is that it is reeeaaaaaally expensive to swap. I’m pretty fiscally responsible, but also appreciate my heart racing, so I’m kind of fighting the two halves. At how many miles/kms have you done yours? What have your experiences been? Brave enough to DIY? Thanks in advance…

Need auto transmission help (from experience)

Hey all - looking at both an 11 cooper S, and a 13 countryman (S) as options. Through a friend - great guy that loves minis. The 11 is a heart purchase, the 13 a head purchase. The 13 (which has 122,000 kms) has a weird lurching in full auto between 2nd and 3rd (might be 3 and 4). Doesn’t show on paddle use, or under bland driving. We theorize it may be solenoid replacement (2 of them), but if not could get $$$. Anyone have this exact experience with theirs? What was the solve? Both N18s.

Thanks in advance!!!

A tub, leaves, charcoal and slime

I keep a 102L tub with leaves and springtails for my isopod bins as top-ups. That way I get some broken down leaf material with springtail hitchhikers for the iso tubs :-)

Don’t forget the free food

If you wait too long the fall leaves will start decomposing with rain/critters/time so get out there NOW. Ground cover growth will make it hard to collect as well. This is if you’re in spring where you are ;-)

Another example of the “circle of life” reference from the video here:

https://youtu.be/rJmJ\_8UhAuQ

Perfect example of opportunistic feeding. Another mourning gecko passed away, and went into the Klugii bin (vs the Cubaris that got the last one). It’s all usable and beneficial. This is a day later - and the soft bones will be gone by tomorrow.

Of course white sharks dig the _second_ you flip the rotting wood, but caught a bunch of them off guard. They’ve really taken to the tub… even though it’s ginormous for them right now ;-)

This is from a bin that I’m fighting dwarf whites in right now (my next YouTube video) but I was really happy to see mama took up a quiet little room in a seed pod to spend some time with the new wee ones.
