Seasonal Sorcerer in Terminator post
This is my offering to the Great Cyclops.

This is my offering to the Great Cyclops.
So to set my stall out a little, I've found alot of the Alien books I have read to be utterly dreadful or just plain disappointing.
I'll start with Alien the Cold Forge.
Concept was intruding enough, if not a bit stock template. But fair enough, you kinda need an isolated setting so space station experiments that works.
But then all, and I do mean all the characters in that book are just insufferable evil arseholes who deserve to die, and really?
Mixing a face hugger and 400lbs gorilla's, what a brilliant move.
Alien 3 (William Gibson) version, I liked, a tad undercooked but overall quite enjoyable.
Alien Infiltrator, my god was that book awful, every character, bar the Wayland Agents, were morons. The Sicentists in that book caused more deaths through incompetence and not following any kind of safety procedures than the aliens did.
Then the Sicentists have the gaul to blame wayland for 'their' personal incompetence.
The Alien Isolation book i never finished, just something rubbed me the wrong way about how they talked about Ellen Ripley and all the cringey misogynistic talking points just got old fast, so I just didn’t get into the book.
I liked Alien out of the Shadows, but really wish they hadn't forced Ripley into that book.
Also not a fan of zula hendricks in the comics I read.

I guess to sum up, I would like a book with mildly competent protagonists who I can like.
And the Alien "event" (whether is breaking containment or being discovered) doesn't feel super contrived.
A nice bonus would be for the company to not only be generic bad guy, who just screws everyone over, just for the sake of it.
Thank you.
Ive made it to season three, just finished Revelations... and my god am I sick to death of Willow and Xander.
Like it's mostly Xander.
But god dam all of them are getting on my nerves this season, constantly jumping buffy and being vindictive all about me arseholes.
Like im not asking for perfection and im not saying buffy was 100% in the right when she ran away. She hurt her friends.
But every time something happens its all "Me me me" Buffy how you made "Meeeeee feel" while Buffy is there also suffering.
Going through multiple episodes of PTSD, which she's still yet to work through.
But nooo its all about how Buffy effected me and Im jealous I never got a shot at her.
Like Angel did bad stuff and it wasn't under his own control, but if you want to blame him thats fine.
But with the way they all talk to buffy no wonder she closes them out.
Because everything she does is all about how it effects them with no thought to the toil shes going through.
Like seriously these characters need a slap on the side of the head, things are meant to be a give and take between friends.
But they treat buffy like a fair weather friend. Sure she ran and that'll cause issues. But there is no giving ground with them.
Like the end of this episode buffy is saying "are we good" to xander. When things clearly aren't, but it should be xander who asking buffy that, he's in the wrong.
