When trump is finally gone and there’s a new FL governor…

Will KDJT go back to being KPBI? I vomit a little every time I see a jet going to DJT. Also let’s throw the Gulf of Mexico in there too

What percentage of controllers are members in good standing with NATCA?

Had a situation today that is giving me the urge to leave the union. I see a lot of disenfranchisement in this sub and the atc sub. Made me wonder what percentage of eligible controllers are in NATCA, has that number seen a recent decline due to all the Nick hatred, and what’s the benefit of staying in? I’ll get the raises regardless right?

Shoe question

Howdy. I will be traveling to the Redwood Nat'l Forest with my wife, 12yr old, 7yr old and my parents, 78 and 76. Ma and pa have some mobility issues (mostly stamina related) so we are sticking to paved and well-defined, tree root-less paths. We will be in the park from this Friday through Sunday. Due to us more than likely not doing any unimproved hiking trails, I don't need a chonky waterproof shoe right? Regular tennis shoes should be fine? Black soles are the 'hiking' waterproof On cloud shoes, the blue soles are just normal shoes. I'm trying to save room in my carry-on (no checked bags) and the blue soles are definitely more comfortable and breathable than the black soles which is why I'm not just bringing the black. Thanks.

ETA: no rain forecast, just sun and some clouds each day

Told 12 year old to close the deep freeze tight, proceeded to lose everything inside

12 year old son said he was getting a popsicle last night out of the deep freeze vertical freezer in the garage. Wife yelled down to him make sure the door closes tight. He said ok. I got a text at 9am with some pics this morning with her saying it was open all night…

2014 Acadia 208K miles

TL;DR: hazards pop on randomly and the stabilitrak/traction control warning lights have popped on 3 times leading to an engine bogging down at high RPM. Passenger side airbag light is on my dash and I have an error message in my display about it

My 2014 GMC Acadia has 208K miles on it but the tranny and engine are running fine. No check engine lights. Last year my rear/side collision detector harness and modules went bad. At the same time a bunch of other stuff stopped working: forward cam for lane assist, lane assist/collision warning systems didn't work, passenger airbag message on my dash, hazards randomly started turning on and can be hard to turn off, cruise control sometimes won't work about it was working fine and takes 5-10 mins to come back online, built in garage door opener stopped working. Recently I have had the stabilitrak system and traction control error messages and my engine bogs down at high RPM. I got the modules and harness replaced friday and they replaced a blown fuse behind the glove box which fixed the front camera, rear/side collision issues, and they replaced the brake pedal position sensor but didn't calibrate it right b/c my cruise control won't work unless I put my foot behind the brake pedal and lift up. The stabilitrak issue popped up for the third time ever today AND the hazards still randomly turn on. So hazards, stabilitrak, passenger airbag error message and cruise control (last one is probably a calibration error) are still messed up. Been searching google and talking to both Claude and ChatGPT but I wanted to ask humans before I take it back to the shop. I can't afford a new car but I've dumped almost $5K into this car slowly over the past 12-18 months which angers me. It's been spaced out just enough to prevent me from tossing the car. I took it to a GMC dealer but took their diagnoses to a small shop that I trust. They have done the work before and saved me a grand so far. Google and AI thinks it could be the BCM (my car does not have a sunroof which is a known issue for corrosion in the BCM), bad grounds throughout the whole system, or a wheel hub bearing with a failing magnetic encoder ring. Any thoughts? I'm about to the point where I want to maybe drop $1000-$1500 more into it to see if the problems can be fixed but with all I've spent, it feels like burning cash. Mechanically she's running great, just electrical gremlins haunting me. Be gentle

I had my Medical for work a few weeks ago and it was with a new AME. It took a lot longer than normal. VERY thorough. How long and how thorough are your medicals? I’m looking for people with a special issuance as well as people without a special issuance. Mine ran over an hour and that’s not normal in this area. Thanks.
