The group stage’s behind us now and although I’ve seen glimmers of success, there has been some disappointing factors in our campaign however the most concerning seems to be DEFENSIVELY.

Firstly, Tuchel HAS NO CLUE who his CB partnership is and it’s clearly having an effect on the way we defend. There’s no chemistry between the two starting CBs and every time we get hit on the counter, we always look so vulnerable. He has to pick one and stick with it. Either go with Guehi and Konsa or Guehi and Stones and tell the boys that this will be the partnership for the rest of the tournament. Need to assure everyone who the starters are to mantain chemistry in the team

Also, our RB options could be cooked. You’re telling me we’ve got to sit in front of the TV and watch Quansah or Spence potentially face up to a Vini or even a Diomande who we could face further on.

Overall, still have faith Tuchel could fix these problems as he is a specialist in tournaments however I still feel a hint of concern going into the knockouts.

Wow. What a way to start our World Cup campaign. The best thing about today was the feeling knowing that the game could’ve ended with us having 5 or 6 goals if not for Livakovic who was superb for Croatia.

I’d be lying if I said I had no doubts today with the controversy of his team selections and our lack of energy in warm-up games but my oh my, Mr Tuchel well done for today.

The pressing that our front line were showing has given us excitement and the effort that we’ve not been able to experience for ages.

The way he allowed Kane to have freedom to drop in midfield was superb and he certainly got the best out of Bellingham who silenced those who doubted his starting spot.

I’m sorry but this decision from Tuchel is just crazy to be honest.

Firstly, Even if you think that Konsa and Guehi are better it’s crazy that he’s not in the squad as this season you could make a genuine argument for him being the 3rd best or even 2nd. He’s played nearly all of Carrick’s games and has looked brilliant in all of them. You could even argue it’s up there with his best seasons so for him to miss the squad based on quality definitely doesn’t add up.

Adding on, Tuchel has said multiple times about experience when talking about Hendersons selection a few months back. There’s not many more experienced than Maguire for sure. A rock at the back during 2018 and 2022 WC and would’ve brought some leadership towards the squad.

Finally, let’s all admit that he’s been one of the cornerstones into England’s resurgence so overall it’s just a little strange he’s not been included.
