Addicted to our boy (and our senior girl)

Puck is our rescue American bully (6 years old) in the foreground. He loves his car rides as long as he has his big sis to help him feel confident. He often looks to Penny (14 year old rescue pit mix) for guidance and comfort. He adores her. She’s slowly warming up to the “new, gross boy”;) She lost her bonded brother almost 1 year ago to date. We adopted puck shortly after bc she was broken and a shell of herself. It hurt to watch. She was with us when we let him go, something I will never regret doing & now tell everyone to consider. Puck has definitely been a tremendous help for her. And her to him. It’s beautoful watching their relationship grow. Both these babies are pure joy and love.

A smile as wide as his (not so) little body…

I fall more in love with our new family member, Puck, every day. He was bounced around for the first few years of his precious life. He found his soft place to land with us and we are so smitten and will never let him go. He’s our best pal.

Aloe baths for skin relief for our precious boy, Puck

We’ll have our 1 year adoptaversary
With Puck in October. This perfect boy is so patient with us. He has major skin issues we are continuing to adapt to. He loves his aloe baths which provide so much relief for him! I had mentioned before in this sub, when he was not taken care of well, he suffered with antibiotic resistant MRSA. It went untreated for close to a year. Pucky will always deal with residual trauma from that. We love him more than life and will continue to seek ways to improve his precious little body and skin.

Puck loves cruising

We had to build custom steps to help this squatty (perfect) boy into the car. Before he would run away at the sight of a car ride. I think when we would hoist him up, it hurt his body and he would let out a sound akin to a gargoyle in pain. It was so sad.

Now, with stairs assistance, no one can stop him and he lives for rides with his papa!

A scorching Summer Weekend with our Best Boy, Puck…

Weekends here in Chicago have been brutally-packed with heat and humidity. We are counting the days until Fall’s cooler weather so this boy can once again enjoy being outdoors.

Puck is the best boy, and it’s been the greatest gift to watch him integrate into our little family. He’s such a gift, and I cannot express how adored this boy is.

Right Color for Aging Woman going through menopause?

I’ve been a beige blonde for years, sometimes more ashy. Recently moved to a city where we have well water and my blonde just hasn’t been the same. It looks too yellow/gold and never looks fresh. On top of that, I’m pushing 5-0 and feel really ick about myself lately with sagging skin, thinning hair. I think it’s time I change to something with less maintenance and go darker.

Photo 1: my current reality that bums me out pretty bad. Photo 2 and 3: different color ways thanks to AI that I’m considering and leaning towards dark.

My question: do any of these work and make me look less drained/more youthful? Please be kind. I wanted to block out my eyes for (lack of) recognition, but I know that won’t help on the quest to find the best color for my skin/age since eyes play a role.

Lazy days in the cool sunshine

Puck loves heading to his grandparents’ home that sits on ten peaceful acres. Grandpa feeds table scraps, too. Doggie heaven.
