i searched everywhere for the name of it, but to no avail, does anybody happen to know the name or composer or is able to find a very similar sounding piece? it’s played for such a short time but I would love to learn how to create chest music for it or somethin, I just really love it

I just got this email from Michigan Ross for the All-Access Weekend and I’m pretty sad, but I’m also really confused about what it means

“Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applicants and limited spaces available for the program, we are unable to invite you at this time. Space may become available through the attendance confirmation process. We will notify you by the end of August if space becomes available.”

Is this just a straight rejection, or is it basically a waitlist? I don’t remember them mentioning having a waitlist for the fly-in, so I’m not sure how to interpret this.

Has anyone else received the same email this year (or in previous years)? Did anyone actually end up getting an invitation later after people declined their spots?

I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but the wording about “space may become available” is throwing me off. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Has anybody’s nominators heard back from the 2026 Diana Awards? I heard nominators get notified in June but I’m not sure if it’s rolling or a specific day or if only those who win get notified

I applied to TKS for the 2026–27 cycle on May 31 and got the confirmation saying written applications are reviewed within 3 business days before possible group interview invites. I was wondering if anyone who applied around the final deadline has already received an update yet or if it usually takes a little longer when a lot of people apply close to the deadline?

Hi everyone, did anyone else apply to Pioneer Academics’ Global Problem-Solving Institute for Summer 2026 and hear back yet? I applied by the deadline and received an email saying that, due to the high volume of applications, most scholars were expected to receive admission offer letters by May 15, and that my application was still being considered. Since May 15 has passed, I was wondering if acceptances are still being sent out or if people have already received offers. I haven’t heard back yet or heard many people who applied, so I’m trying to figure out if this means I’m probably out of the running or if decisions are still rolling? Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here may have a clearer answer or advice because I’m feeling really overwhelmed.

I’m a first-year Gates Scholar for the incoming 2026 college year, and I recently received a full-time internship opportunity at a startup that could last either a semester or a full year. It’s a very cool opportunity that I didn’t expect to ever get, but it would likely require me to defer my college enrollment instead of starting classes immediately in Fall 2026.

I’m very low-income, my mom is a single parent, and I would rely heavily on The Gates Scholarship to afford college. Because of that, I’m extremely scared of making the wrong decision.

I’m unsure if this is allowed or not. Several scholars told me that first-year Gates Scholars cannot take a gap semester or gap year after high school and must start classes immediately in Fall 2026, but one staff member who called me a while back said it would probably be possible, though they would need to assess my specific situation and double-check with other staff if I formally asked.

I do plan to ask through the Gates message center, but I’m honestly scared that if I find out it is not allowed and what other scholars are saying is true, I’m literally going to cry. Both opportunities feel once-in-a-lifetime to me. The internship could shape my career, but Gates is also life-changing for my education and financial future. I’m also a really bad decision-maker and have a hard time saying no to opportunities and knowing what’s right for me, so this has been stressing me out a lot.😕

Because I’ve heard both yes and no, I wanted to ask here in case anyone has a definite answer or has seen a similar situation approved before. If anyone has dealt with this, knows the policy more clearly, or has advice on how to ask Gates directly, I would really appreciate it 🙏

Does anyone know if the National AI Challenge is expected to happen again next year, or was it mainly just created for the 250th anniversary of America?

I literally just found out about it recently and I’m honestly super sad I missed the deadline because it looked like such an amazing opportunity.
