My boyfriend and I are (soon to be) a military couple. He graduates from the U.S Army in August. I don’t ship out until October or November for the USAF. I’m worried that since he will be in AIT until December, he wont be able to attend my graduation. Will they allow him to take a week off to attend my graduation? I know they get paid leave for a certain amount of time.
Hey all, I’m worried about MEP’s.
I was diagnosed with childhood asthma at maybe 5 years old. I never really went to the doctor for asthma related issues. However, I’ve had inhalers prescribed for me in the past. The inhalers weren’t specifically for asthma, it was for a sickness I was battling at the time. Would the doctors at MEP’s see that and assume it was for asthma? My medication records don’t show an inhaler prescribed for asthma since I was 10-12 I believe. I’ve told my recruiter and he isn’t worried. But I can’t help but still worry.
I’ve heard that it’s hard to get waivers approved. And now I’m worried. I have two things that are making me worried that I’ll get DQ’d from MEP’s or the Air Force in general.
Childhood asthma. I haven’t had an inhaler prescribed to me since 2022. And I believe it wasn’t for asthma, but for a sickness I had at the time. I can run and exercise just fine without an inhaler.
Scoliosis that is 24 degrees on the Cobb scale. I haven’t been medicated for it. And it’s completely asymptomatic. I’ve never had my daily life disrupted by the scoliosis.
Will I still get DQ’d despite these circumstances?
For context, I got diagnosed with a L-4, L-5 disc bulge in 2021. However, I haven’t been to an orthopedic doctor for the issue since the diagnosis. I’ve also never needed surgery, physical therapy, or medication for the disc bulge.
I’m partially worried that despite the fact I’ve been asymptomatic for years, I’ll still get disqualified. It doesn’t cause me any nerve pain. And it doesn’t make my daily life any harder.
My recruiter and I were doing just fine. Until he randomly stopped responding to my questions. I’ve texted him 3 times since Monday, all relating to questions about meeting him.
We were going to meet the week of June 22nd, but he hasn’t responded. From what I remember, he might’ve said he was busy this week. I’m not for sure.
I’m just slightly worried, since I know this is pretty common for Air Force recruiters to do. Should I leave him be until the 22nd or until he responds? Or should I call him soon?
Hey, I am trying to join the Air Force. I’m talking to a recruiter currently. However, I haven’t visited MEP’s yet, but we’re getting my dates set up. I don’t have many concerns besides two medical issues that I experience.
I have a history of scoliosis. My curve is under 20 degrees from what I last remember. I was never medicated for it and never had surgery for it. However, I’m worried scoliosis is automatically disqualifying (which I heard it isn’t).
I have a history of asthma. I was diagnosed with childhood asthma when I was around 5-6 years old. I HAVE used inhalers in the past (around elementary school), but I haven’t been prescribed any medication or inhalers since before 2022.
I think I just need to get these wavered whenever go to MEP’s. I’m just still pretty worried that any of these things would be considered disqualifying.
Hello, this may seem stupid or silly. But I graduated high school a month ago. And recently told my parents that I want to join the Air Force. I’ve been talking to a recruiter already and got a majority of my stuff qualified.
However, I told my parents my plans and they were furious. They told me that I would surely die if I joined at this point. And that they don’t want me to.
I get it to a certain point. I’m 18, and I can technically do what I want. But, I’m fearful that my parents will cut contact with me if I enlist.
What do I do? How do I convince them my decision is okay?
Hey yall, I recently graduated high school and I’m looking into joining the Navy. I’ve already been deemed qualified to join by my recruiter. However, I forgot to mention that I have scoliosis. I am worried this will get me automatically disqualified. The curve of my spine is very mild. Only 15-18 degrees. I don’t know the limit. And I’m worried to bring it up.

I am here to ask for some advice. My boyfriend is leaving in around 10 days and I’m already crying thinking about him leaving. It’s something new for me and I’ve never experienced it before.
I’ve seen a bunch of things on social media talking about how hard it is while they’re away at bootcamp. And i know that’s true, but Is there some things you guys did to pass the time and distract yourself from the lonely nights?
I’m really worried that I’m going to have a rough time while he’s gone. I know i will, but I need some advice on what to do to “pass the time” or distract myself. Because I’m already crying thinking about him leaving. 😓

so ive recently started crushing on one of my friends. and he’s starting to give me a bunch of signs, but i dont know if im being delusional.
• he likes somebody but he is persistent about not telling us (the friend group) who it is.
• to add onto the first one, ive asked him about multiple people in the friend group. and he has a pretty solid “no” for all of them. yet I haven’t asked about me.
• he talks to me differently.
• he stands close to me in group settings.
• he always follows me when I walk away from a group.
• he gets excited whenever im around by yelling my name.
• he says im his favorite person in his life.
• (this is going to sound corny) but he randomly wanted to start matching pfps with me. and he’s never matched with someone before.
• he says he misses me when we dont go to the same place (school, the gym; etc).
• our friends think we’re dating.
I just don’t know if he likes me still. I am not fully able to tell the difference between friendly behavior or genuine feelings. Someone help ! :)
