Windows Storage Spaces Simple Volume - Clone and Replace Drive?
OK, so, YES, I'm no JBOD or RAID expert by any means and understand that a simple Windows Storage Space means that if any one drive goes kaput it all goes kaput (I think). It's not ideal, but I currently have a server cobbled out of mostly spare parts and SAS drives from ebay. No issues with it, that machines gets powered up to back up a drive and that's it.
When I started I had a few 3 TB drives and a 2TB. I've added a couple of 3TB drives and may be adding two more soon.
My question, and I think I know the answer is no but figured I'd ask: Can I clone that 2TB drive to a 3TB drive and have it work? If so, could I then either expand the partition or create a new partition and add that to the pool?
