Windows Storage Spaces Simple Volume - Clone and Replace Drive?

OK, so, YES, I'm no JBOD or RAID expert by any means and understand that a simple Windows Storage Space means that if any one drive goes kaput it all goes kaput (I think). It's not ideal, but I currently have a server cobbled out of mostly spare parts and SAS drives from ebay. No issues with it, that machines gets powered up to back up a drive and that's it.

When I started I had a few 3 TB drives and a 2TB. I've added a couple of 3TB drives and may be adding two more soon.

My question, and I think I know the answer is no but figured I'd ask: Can I clone that 2TB drive to a 3TB drive and have it work? If so, could I then either expand the partition or create a new partition and add that to the pool?

Kinda disappointed with VC4 so far

I loved VC1. Bought a PS3 just for that game and never regretted it. Enjoyed 2. 3 was pretty good. A few chapters into 4 (to where they bring out the assault tanks then give you a few tanks to compensate) and it just feels rather...meh.

Like I've always enjoyed learning about the different characters and such but VC4 just dumps a ton on you. That'd be OK except that it seems to be all yap yap yap yap blast through a map super quick only using half the deployed characters then yap yap yap yap again.

I want the story, I just don't need every chapter being basically press X to watch the next clip then the maps being a let down then play more clips. Sometimes Kai and Riley just sit at the base 90% of the map and the only reason I have them is for the command points and a few opening shots. It'd be more fun if you had a clip or two, then a map, then some more talking, then another map and so on for just a single chapter.

I hate not being able to see the enemy on the map and plan accordingly, but I guess that's compensated by not having to strategize much. No problem with the lack of classes as it's set in the VC1 timeline, but the story itself so far is just...eh. Also think it was a mistake to allow you to use the VC1 characters in regular battles, as then VC4 feels even more like a side story.

I'll play through it either way but I really hope it picks up before long.

I've played around with Linux a bit and so far the ones that had impressed me most were Lubuntu, Linux Lite, and Linux Mint (xfce). Friend gave me one of those Lenovo 2-in-1 laptops. Nothing impressive, dual core i7-7700, 8G of soldered on RAM. Stuck a 256G NVME in it and decided to give MX Linux - Fluxbox a shot.

While I used to like Lubuntu it felt oddly restrictive. Mint is fine but wanted something snappier, and was worried that Linux Lite might have issues with the touchscreen and such.

MX/Fluxbox runs PERFECT on this machine! I mean, granted, all I've done so far is a bit of web browsing and play around with it a bit, but wow. No clunky setup, no WiFi issues, touchscreen is dead on, etc. Popped into the file manager and like it so much better than PCManFM. Right click, create a folder, cool, done.

Really impressed with this so far. Do wish you could right click the time and change it, but eh, whatever.

XTAR VC4 Starts Recharge Cycle Over Every Time

So I've had this XTar VC4 charger for a few years and it's decent, but recently bought some Amazon Basics 2200mah AA batteries (yes I know they're not the best) and it's acting funny with those. I can charge batteries to over 1000mah, unplug the charger, plug it back in and it reads them all as zero.

Can also take them from EBL and Eneloop chargers and it does the same thing.

Going to test it out tomorrow with some different batteries I have laying around, but is this something wonky with the VC4 or just crap batteries or something?

Mask Skin Irritation - Suggestions?

I've been using my Fisker and Payel face mask gear for years with no real issues, but in the last few months it's really irritating my skin below my ears on the jaw line. Like flat out redness and itching.

I have noticed that my skin seems to be drier lately so maybe that's it? Trimmed my beard down (yeah I know a beard isn't optimal) and tightened the straps a bit and it was pretty bad this morning. My wife looked at me and said "ouch".

Never used moisturizers but maybe some ezcema-friendly ones before going to bed? I say ezcema-friendly because my skin can be picky when it comes to chemicals at times (have to use Cetaphil soap).

Update - Pressure Reducing Valve and Expansion Tank Question

Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/askaplumber/comments/1tdzsv1/prv_with_no_check_valve_or_expansion_tank_what/

So the guy flat out refused to install an expansion tank on the water heater. Claimed one isn't needed, he doesn't have one himself, yadda yadda. Was like "How about we install one anyways?". Nope, he would not.

He installed the pressure reducing valve, pressure seems fine. Go out today and the pressure relief valve has let out water again, this was after a couple of showers in a couple of hours. So maybe there's an issue with the temp. Have called another company to come take a look, waiting to hear back from them.

Update: Temp is fine, both elements around 125-130.

Update 2: Added images. No check valve under pool noodle insulation. Had a straight copper pipe from the relief valve but the plumber changed it out for the blue one and seems to have taken the copper one with him.

Heater. Brown thing was installed before I moved in by electric company to cut off power if runs for over 10 min.

Amount of water running out, less than before

2 D cell flashlight for scale

New PRV installed next to house cutoff

Wheel size - feeling stupid

Hello all. So I have a 2015 Civic Si Coupe and wanted to buy a single, steel wheel for use as a full size spare. Go out, measure what's on it, 17" wheels. Bought the car used so no idea what the stock wheel size is (though it seems to be 16"?).

Cool, no problem, should be like my Toyota where I search the dealership and it tells me. Wrong. I swear the Honda dealerships obfuscate info on purpose. Two wheels shown, difference is in price, no information. Google the model numbers, those are 16" wheels.

Start hunting around other places and there's 17x6.5, 17x7, 17x7.5, etc. I have no idea. I've never worried about wheel size outside of the diameter before. Need a 15" inch wheel? Check if this lug pattern fits. Cool. Done.

What size wheel do I need for this thing? 17x7.5? I feel like a complete doofus for even asking.

Side question: If anyone has a clue what the part for the gas door, the one that holds the stick that releases it is called, please let me know. Can find the cable, door, etc. but now exactly what that is called. Dealerships just show some nonsensical drawing.

Called the local dealership's parts department and he said "I have no idea". Found the one Civic at the junkyard and it had a broken one also. Guess I'm gonna try to fix that with a hose clamp since the plastic retainer snapped off. Right now the cable is just duck taped in place.

PRV with no check valve or expansion tank - what can happen?

So found out the house has fluctuating water pressure (thanks to the electric water heater relief valve and a gauge) and runs from 70-120 PSI. Neighbor's also runs around 100 so having a PVR installed which should run around $450.

However, skimming the Internet it seems I also need a check valve or expansion tank installed? If those aren't installed, what could happen?

Just like everyone else I don't want to spend more than I have to on this project, but I also don't want a future problem that costs a lot more to fix. Better to spend a few dollars now than a lot later.

So was given 3 old Patriot Burst 2.5" SSDs. Two were dead so I tossed the boards, but kept the shells for...some reason. Now I'm trying to figure out what I could possibly do with them.

Any ideas?
