Hi! I am 22 female leaving to live in Borneo Indonesia to research orangutans for a year and am looking for the best recommendations for clothing to wear while in a rainforest. I’ve heard loose breathable clothing is good so mosquitoes don’t bite through. Does anyone have any recommendations on favorite rainforest trekking pants or tops? And why?

Also another random question, what did u wear to bed lol? I’ve heard many different preferences! Love to hear more takes! 🦧

Where can i find people knowledgeable on field gear for researching in humid climates (or just any rough terrain), zoology field research, advice, etc.

Sorry if some of these questions are dumb, i have never used a kindle! I am going to go live in a rainforest in Borneo Indonesia for a year and i am looking to buy a kindle as i will be very remote and have little packing space. I already have to spend a lot of money on field gear, so here’s what I’m looking for:

• something withstand <90% humidity and hot temperatures (aka waterproof)

• long battery life as charging times are limited/controlled by solar panels

• something that won’t break the bank (do i buy now on prime day or get a used one second hand?)

• nothing fancy, just want black and white book to read

Some general questions i also have:

- can i use hot spot/can kindles connect to star link satellite? How will i download in remote area
- is there a big difference in battery life between old and new generations?
- what’s the difference/purpose between ad supported/no lock screen ads, is paying more for no ads worth it?

I went to a Fjallraven store today to figure out what sizing and style pants I wanted before I leave for field research in Borneo Indonesia. I wanted to figure out what size i was so I can buy off Poshmark, Depop, etc. to not break the bank.

I ended up being a size US 4 EU 36 with a 32” inseam. Most of the ones I am finding on resale apps use waist inches sizing like 27”-28”. I then tried looking at the size chart on the website which just confused me even more.

What size is equivalent to a brand new US 4 fjallraven keb trousers? Thanks 🦧
