Big Easy Shrimp Creole

I had never heard of this brand before. I bought this at a local family owned grocery store, not a big box store chain. It was about $4.50, which seems high - but then as it’s a local store their prices are always a bit higher than the chains.

The picture on the box is pretty deceptive- there may be seven shrimp in this bowl but if there are they are TINY. I shaved two points off just for that.

Otherwise, this is pretty tasty and it’s a decent amount of food compared to other similar dishes. I may try some of their other frozen meals if I see them.

Is Dorney Park worth a five hour drive and $20+ in tolls?

I have never been to Dorney, and I probably will not have time to work it into a longer trip this year - but I could make a two day/ one night stop. I do these pretty regularly: leave my home in the morning, arrive at the park in the afternoon, stay until close and sleep in a nearby hotel, go back to the park in the morning for a couple hours and then head home.

It seems like Dorney is just a "junior" version of the bigger Cedar Fair parks like Cedar Point, Kings Island, or Carowinds (all of which I have visited in the past 12 months). Meaning, there isn't really much to separate Dorney from those other parks.

Cedar Point is only a two hour drive for me - should I just go there again, or should I give Dorney a shot? I have the all park pass, plus all season drinks and dining - so gas and lodging are my only real expenses.

Should KI have less nights of fireworks and then make the displays more dramatic on the nights when they do?

I'm not a local, so I get to KI usually 1-2 times per year (though I was unable to attend at all in 2025 due to family issues).

In recent years I have been amazed with the KI nightly fireworks show. In 2022, I happened to visit Disneyland in California (for my one and so far only time) just a few weeks after visiting KI, and I can honestly say that the 2022 KI nighttime show was much better than the one in Disneyland. That show was such a thing to see at a regional park in suburban Ohio.

In 23 and 24, the show was a bit smaller, but I did understand that with 2022 being an anniversary year, that show would be special.

I just visited KI last week, and I was absolutely shocked how much the fireworks show had shrunk. It was only five minutes long, per my watch. There were a few neat drone images, though most of them were retreads from previous years. I was pretty underwhelmed.

I understand that budgets are not unlimited - so my thought would be, why not do a major show 2-3 nights per week (with maybe a few extra nights if there are holidays) instead of a subpar show every night? To me - that would make me more inclined to return to the park and to recommend it to more folks like myself who are traveling a few hours.

Finding Nemo is inarguably the movie I have seen the most times.

I have worked with adults and children with developmental disabilities for twenty years. I work with a wide range of folks, from some who present as being neurotypical to some who are nonverbal, wheelchair dependent, and do not eat by mouth. I have worked with folks as young as preschool aged to folks in their seventies.

There is no movie that connects with these folks as universally as Finding Nemo does. There is a house that I oversee where four men reside - they often watch Nemo five times or more per day. They always choose it, they all agree with the choice, and when offered other options, they continue to request Nemo again. These men range in age from early twenties to mid sixties. Yet they all love Finding Nemo.

And that is not the only house in our program where Nemo is the favorite. It’s pretty commonly accepted and adored across many homes and with many individuals.

And even though I have probably watched it (in bits and pieces) over a thousand times, I still find it to be compelling.

Andrew Stanton and company really did something special with this one.

Is it normal for guests to be allowed on both levels of the Eiffel Tower?

I’m not a true regular, but this is probably my tenth visit and I’ve never seen this before!

I'm curious if David Sims is aware that the Union Pacific Big Boy will be relatively near to him in the next few days?

I'm not a "train guy" but this chungus will be passing by my town in about a month, and I plan to make a point to see it, just out of curiosity. I never had any idea that a locomotive engine traveling through a town would attract so much attention, but many locals in the Pittsburgh area are going a bit crazy (train).

USAF Museum Attractions - Are They Worth It??

Hey Daytonians - I will be making my first ever trip to your fair city next weekend. I plan to hit up the nearby Buc-ee's of course, and I will also be visiting the USAF Museum.

My question is - are the paid attractions at the museum worth the money or time? For context - I am a junkie for thrill rides and I also love Disney or Universal attractions like Soarin', Star Tours, or the Simpsons ride. Is anything at the USAF Museum at that level? I get that the things I mentioned would be a "gold standard" - but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the bronze and silver standards as well sometimes! And with admission being free, I would not be mad with paying a few extra bucks for a good simulator. I just don't want to pay for a BAD simulator!

Marie Callender’s Shrimp Mac & Cheese

I’m a big fan of the Scott and Jon’s frozen seafood dishes that are similar to this. I think those are significantly better than this product. The shrimp are smaller and there are less of them when compared to Scott and Jon’s. The cheese sauce never really thickened up, and was not particularly flavorful.

But- this was less than $3.00 at Walmart so that’s always a plus. I’d buy this again, but only if other meals that I prefer were unavailable.

So with Mandalorian, BC will have now covered four Favreau films.

(Two Iron Men on Patreon, and the Lion King bonus episode, in case you don’t remember)

Should they finish him out? A Patreon mini? “The Rest of our Favreau-ite Films”?

and she not only has no familiarity with the show - she's not really familiar with Star Wars, George Lucas himself, his other work, or really anything else. She IS catching up on The Pitt, so of course that will likely have some relevance to this particular show.

I just can't make up my mind if I should expose her to anything else that might be relevant to the show, or just let her go in "as/is" and see what she enjoys. I'm curious if any of you have thoughts?
