Is Mathematics as a Minor Required for M.Sc. Physics in IITs?

I am planning to appear for IIT JAM 2027 (Physics) and want to pursue an M.Sc. in Physics. My B.Sc. major is Physics, but my minor was Statistics, not Mathematics. I have also studied Mathematical Physics for one semester. I’ve seen that some IITs require Mathematics for at least 2 semesters. Does this mean I would be ineligible for those programmes, even though I have Mathematical Physics? And are there IITs offering M.Sc. Physics through JAM where a Mathematics minor/2 semesters of Maths is not required?

I don't know how to cope

I don't really know what I'm looking for by posting this. Maybe advice, maybe just to get this off my chest because I'm struggling.

I started seeing this guy in December. We had both recently gotten out of relationships, so we agreed to take things slow. But he was the one who asked me out first, told me "I love you," and kept talking about how he wanted to date me in the future. Naturally, I started believing that we were heading towards a relationship.

The problem was that months went by, and despite us seeing each other for about five months, he never wanted to make things official. Every time I brought it up, he said he wasn't ready for a relationship.

I came home for my summer break for two months, and that's when things started getting worse. We argued more often, mostly because I felt like I was the only one putting effort into communicating. He rarely called me unless I asked, never really initiated conversations, and I kept explaining that communication was important to me, especially since we were long distance for those two months.

I tried to leave multiple times because I felt emotionally exhausted, but every time he would text me the next day like nothing had happened. Whenever I told him how hurt I was, he'd apologize, promise he'd change, and I'd stay because I believed him. But nothing really changed. I spent so many nights crying myself to sleep, and not once did he call to check on me or ask why I was crying.

Today, after another conversation about communication, he told me that he did love me before and meant it every time he said it, but that he doesn't feel the same anymore. The confusing part is that just a few weeks ago he was still telling me he loved me.

I told him I wanted to cut contact because I don't think I can heal otherwise, but he asked me not to and said we could just be friends. I honestly don't know how to be friends with someone I loved, planned a future with, and was physically intimate with. It feels impossible right now.

What's making this even harder is that my previous relationship ended in a very similar way, so it feels like I'm reliving the same heartbreak all over again. I don't know if I will be able to heal from this, I don't understand how people can Knowingly keep hurting others.

Am I wrong for wanting to cut him off completely? Has anyone here actually managed to stay friends with someone they loved, or is it better to walk away and let yourself heal?

He says he isn't ready for a relationship, but he won't let me go

So, I think I am in a situationship. Idk how it got to this point. We started talking in December. He made the first move, told me he liked me first, and we kind of went headfirst into things. We had both recently gotten out of relationships, so I told him I wanted to take things slow.

Fast forward 6-7 months, and he still says he needs time and isn't ready for a relationship. The confusing part is that he also doesn't leave when I tell him to. He doesn't want something casual, but he also doesn't want a relationship. At this point, I genuinely don't know what he wants from me.

I care about him, so part of me wants to give him the time he says he needs. But I also crave being with someone who is sure about me and wants to be with me. Six or seven months feels like a long time to still not know what you want.

Am I being unreasonable? Is 6-7 months not long enough, or is this a sign that he's just not sure about me?

Does it actually get better with time?

I broke up with my boyfriend around 6 months ago and I still feel just as heartbroken as I did in the beginning. I think a part of me kept hoping we would eventually talk things out or that he would reach out, but he never did.

We were together for 2 years and he was my first boyfriend, so I tried to stay friends because I genuinely cared about him and didn’t want to lose him completely. I reached out a couple of times over these months, and whenever I asked if my texting bothered him, he would always say no.

But our last conversation completely broke me. He told me he doesn’t miss me, and that if he did, he would have reached out by now. I know he doesn’t owe me anything after the breakup, but hearing it so directly hurt more than I expected.

What’s messing with me the most is that I still can’t hate him. Part of me keeps struggling to accept that this cold, detached person is the same person I loved for 2 years. I know I shouldn’t reach out anymore, and I won’t, but now I feel like I’m back at square one crying every day again.

Has anyone else felt like they restarted the grieving process months later after finally losing hope?
