Anyone Using a 49” Widescreen for iRacing?

Looking at upgrading from my 32” to a 49” widescreen, has anyone done so? How’s the experience, and what’s the viewing angles like?

Ultimately just want to be a bit more immersed and see a car to the side of me when wheel to wheel racing. I understand triples would obviously be better, but I don’t have the space and they’re too much for what I’m after. How does a 49” widescreen go in iRacing?

Let the Faster Car Pass: A Lesson

Letting someone faster past is almost always the better option, and usually pays off as shown.

First time making an edit like this so apologies for the quality. I recognise it's pretty cringe but I had fun making it.

I Got a Meatball Flag for this (Insane Netcode)

Lap 1 of Porsche Cup at Bathurst, tried to avoid all the action by taking the off track and get a meat ball flag for THIS contact. I'm Australian, car 14 is from the United States. Just insane bad luck honestly, there goes my hour time slot with 13 minutes of required repairs and no hopes of a recovery drive

Sometimes it's just not your day (PCup at Bathurst)

Some days nothing goes right. Caught in big lap 1 crashes, crashed into by lapped car, hit by unsafe rejoin, and PLENTY of wall contact / off tracks. I shouldn't be in top split but that's where my IR puts me (inflated by decent results in regional series). At least I didn't ruin anyone else's races, but man am I deflated after being 3-4 seconds off the pace and so bad at this car.

“I decide when the green flag flies!”

Dude just doesn't understand rolling start procedure and takes out 3 cars before the green flag (it was his 4th GT3 race today and had done many more). Thankfully karma got its way

“I decide when the green flag flies!”

Dude just decided the green flag was whenever he felt like it and cleaned up 3 or 4 cars. Then in the second clip at the front, he swerved to block and got crashed. Last clip is HIS voice chat, calling the rest of us idiots and Verstappen wannabes. And yes, 4 of us reported him.

Was this worth a 4 week ban?

(I’m not this car, this is my friend in our league). League race in F4 at Watkins Glen. He (POV) had this contact with car 23 which they deemed him at fault for. Reason given was “Car did not have overlap at turn in and made contact with car 23.” Who was at fault for the move, and was it really worth the ban?

The ban was also extended as he swore over VC at the end accidentally (mixed up Discord and iRacing PTT button)

Even on iRacing, Jaxon Evans can’t escape lap 1 incidents (Purple Corvette)

Lap 1, about 5 seconds after the green flag dropped. I witnessed this yesterday lining up behind Jaxon thinking I was going to get a cool opportunity to race him. This guy had other ideas, sound like getting wrecked by other people on lap 1 isn’t exclusive to Supercars for Jaxon Evans. Sucks for us because he won’t want to keep racing with us if this shit keeps happening to him.

Pro V8 Supercar Driver gets wrecked before turn 1 (Purple Corvette)

Former V8 Supercar Driver Jaxon Evans (Purple Corvette) gets wrecked shortly after the green flag drops at Oran Park. He tried to hold his line but the other car had other ideas.

Supercar Drivers on iRacing

How many Supercars drivers have you seen on iRacing, and how’d they go?

I’ve raced James Golding, Nick Percat, Cooper Murray, and Jaxon Evans. All were really quick as expected.

I also know Broc Feeney used to be on it a lot, particularly in Porsche Cup.

I see Brodie Kostecki competes in the Aussie NASCAR League and is winning consistently

Really cool for us as fans to have the opportunity to race against these guys

Wifi USB Constantly Disconnecting After Wake

When I wake my PC from sleep (and turn it on), the wifi usb just constantly disconnects until I unplug and replug it in. Sometimes it’ll do it again. It’s a brand new device, and I’ve already done to the device manager and stopped the save power settings.

What can I do to stop this from constantly disconnecting?

Video is posted to my account in a different sub

Who was owed the room, and who's at fault?

(I’m not either car) Green car was trying to overtake the RedBull for the lead, ended in this crash. Green claims they were squeezed and not left any room for the corner, RedBull claims they weren’t owed any room because they were overtaking below the yellow line (not an off track in iRacing) and green moved back up on them. Who do you guys think is at fault? I’m split

Seller/Agent Conditions and Red Flags?

I visited a property today that both my partner and I both quite like. At the end we were talking to the agent trying to find out what the sellers are looking for conditions wise. They mentioned a quick settlement, no building and pest, and finance ready. They said she could send the building and pest report they had already done tomorrow. I still feel like it would be best to get our own done if we put an offer down. The property has also been up since early March, which I feel is a long time in this current housing market. Just feels like a bit of red flag if the sellers don’t want people to make building and pest a condition on their offer?

It’s our first time buying so any help is appreciated!

Had a NetCode incident racing at Bathurst F4 (Australian servers, I’m Australian and they were from Wales). Gave each other heaps of room as they tried to pass down the dipper but NetCode flung them into me and then they took me out. He called me the above, I told him it was his fault crashing into me. Once the race was over and we watched the replay and saw how respectful we actually were leaving racing room, we came to the conclusion it wasn’t our fault and made up. Really heart warming moment

Does anyone have success right foot braking in higher splits? Who’s got the highest IR doing it?

I’m in Australian that just can’t use my left foot, that’s always mentally reserved for the clutch, even when it’s not needed. It’s so unnatural to me. Our major motorsports category (Supercars) all right foot brake, so it’s what I’ve learnt doing. I know I’m genuinely just slow, but right foot braking definitely doesn’t help.

Anyone have tips moving to left foot braking? I’ve got the Simjacks UT load cell brakes
