Apparently having a free version with ads is now “anti privacy” 💀

I released an Android permission analyzer recently and got a comment complaining that the free version has ads, so the app is “anti privacy.”

The thing is:

- there’s a free version with ads

- and there’s also a paid Pro version without ads

If someone prefer maximum privacy, they can use Pro.

If someone want a completely free app, ads help keep development alive.

Feels like some people care more about pushing their own privacy ideology than understanding how indie Android apps actually survive while still complying with Google Play policies.

Does anyone understand how AdMob campaign work?

I'm a newbie in AdMob and want to know how it work (Admob campaign). Does that mean we can promote app B on our own app A for free?

Are Rewarded Ad really that high?

This is the second time I've achieved the highest eCPM, which was IDR 2,610,000 (equivalent to $147++).

Is that a common for rewarded ad with this number?

Kenapa Postingan Tidak Bisa Upload Image?

Pertama Kali Digaji Oleh Google (Pecah Telur)

Dear Gamer, It's Small Size App?

Is an app like this that is similar to only 1.2MB in size small enough?

I tried to make app Android very small, and it work perfectly, as the app name suggest. I wanted to try the best in term of size.

Salahkah App Privacg Pakai AdMob di Versi Gratis?

Sedikit curhat.

- tanpa ads

- tanpa third-party ad SDK

Jadi user tetap punya pilihan:

I Listened to the Privacy Criticism

I understand the privacy concern regarding my app, App Permission Analyzer.

One of the main criticism was that the free version include ads, which means third party ad provider may collect device identifier for advertising or analytics. Even though this data is not collected by me directly, I understand why privacy focused user are concerned.

Because of that feedback, I created a separate Pro version with:

- No ads

- No third-party ad tracking SDKs

Free:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=id.biz.rrndev.appanalyzer

Pro:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=id.biz.rrndev.appanalyzer.pro

My goal is to be transparent and give user a real choice between a free ad supported version and a cleaner privacy focused Pro version.

I made a lightweight offline Android privacy analyzer (1.3 MB)

Just made a small Android app to check app permission, tracker, and potential privacy risk directly on device (offline).

Features:

- Scan installed apps

- Analyze APK files

- Detect common tracker

- Privacy score & simple risk warning

Main focus is lightweight & privacy:

- No internet required

- Fully offline

- Small size, only around 1.3 MB

Not an antivirus, just a simple tool to help you understand what access apps are requesting 😄

Just Published TwitX a Tweet Card Maker App

This is a simple application I created that can create tweet card and download them as image files. It can also be saved in history so you don't forget previous tweet.

I would really appreciate any input regarding this TwitX application.

I just wanted to share a small personal win today. After publishing several apps on the Play Store and seeing many of them struggle to gain traction, one of my latest project, Fake GPS finally crossed the 1k+ download mark.

I know 1k+ might seem like a small number compared to the big player, but as an independent developer, seeing that "1,000+" badge on the Play Store feel incredibly rewarding. It’s been a journey of tweaking the UI, understanding the Console policy for location based app, and slowly seeing the user base grow.

It’s the first time one of my app has reached this milestone, and it give me a lot of motivation to keep improving it and working on new project.
