Apparently having a free version with ads is now “anti privacy” 💀
I released an Android permission analyzer recently and got a comment complaining that the free version has ads, so the app is “anti privacy.”
The thing is:
- there’s a free version with ads
- and there’s also a paid Pro version without ads
If someone prefer maximum privacy, they can use Pro.
If someone want a completely free app, ads help keep development alive.
Feels like some people care more about pushing their own privacy ideology than understanding how indie Android apps actually survive while still complying with Google Play policies.
