My grandpa passed away. Found his 59k mile, ‘97 Explorer in the garage.

He hasn’t driven it since 2023. 1997 XLT, grandpa spec. Last time I rode in it was probably 20 years ago. Thought some of yall might appreciate seeing this old girl. I guess that’s how old, low mileage cars happen huh?

Inglewood Police (in Reno, Nevada)

Not sure what they’re doing here. There were 4 units in a row. I also saw American Canyon police. Maybe a training event?

Found these pictures on Facebook of a tornado in Nevada. Someone is claiming it’s a landspout, thoughts?

Looks like it came from the clouds and did not start on the ground, so it is in fact an actual tornado. What are your thoughts?

How do you go about investigating a crash, if at all, when there are no witnesses, no video evidence and just “he said, she said”?

Yesterday I came upon a really minor accident between two vehicles in a freeway on-ramp turn lane, with both vehicles sitting in the lane not moving. I turned on my directional lightbar to help warn traffic of the hazard, then got out of my work truck to check on them.

They were both okay. However, both drivers said something else happened, and the woman up front did not want to move her vehicle because it was her boss’s rental.

She already took photos and videos of the scene but wanted to wait for police to get there. The other driver wanted to move to the shoulder or a parking lot but didn’t want the lady to think he was running so he stayed put.

I told the lady that police would most likely just make them move out of traffic because it is state law to move out of traffic if the vehicles are drivable with no injuries. This wouldn’t be a major accident investigation.

She refused and I ended up waiting there until highway patrol got there to divert traffic and then I left.

I’m curious as to whether police would even investigate this, or would they just move them out of traffic, give each driver a report and then have them handle it through insurance?

My sister’s 20 year old leopard gecko, Mr. Gecko.

This is Mr. Gecko. Mr. Gecko is actually female. My dad got Mr. Gecko for my sister for her 6th birthday, and she is now 26.

None of us thought she’d live this long. She lives her days chillin by the heating pad and eating crickets. She’s ready to molt too :)

Fire headed towards 395 near Hallelujah Junction?

Haven’t seen any posts or alerts but looks like either a new fire or the Elephant Fire jumped containment lines

Edit: it is now on Watch Duty, looks to be further south towards Cold Springs

SelRes NAT, about to graduate A-school. Will I get new orders to depart from my training command, to my NRC?

Kind of a stupid question I know, I’m assuming the answer is yes. I’ve had conflicting responses from my LPOs for whatever reason.

Will I get new orders to depart from my training command and head to my NRC?

One LPO said I would travel with my old orders that brought me here, which doesn’t sound right, and another said I would get new orders. Thing is, I graduate in a week and a half, so I’m trying to figure out if I’ll go into holding or what the situation is, since I was expecting to be grad and go.

I wouldn’t need to do anything for these orders to be generated right? Are they supposed to be automatic?

No new orders showing up in NSIPS, asked one of my schoolhouse LPOs to check and I haven’t heard back from them. I checked with my sponsor, and I think they misunderstood my question. I’m kind of at a loss here. I’ve been in for a year at this point and I just want to go home 😂

TS/SCI Granted!

My TS/SCI for DoD was granted this week. Here’s my timeline:

Late July 2025 - submitted SF-86
Interim granted around that time

Mid September 2025 - Interview with investigator during basic training. Fixed a few mistakes I made.

December 2025 - References contacted

Mid February - CI Poly
Late May 2026 - Clearance entered into NSIPS!

“Red flags” - I had a significant mental health history as a juvenile, including 2 hospitalizations and medication from 2018-2021, which I was granted waivers for. No mental health history since 2021.

Tornado warning Florida Panhandle near Elgin AFB despite marginal risk day, no listed tornado chance on conv. outlook

u/RedAlpaca02 — 5 months ago

I submitted my SF-86 in July 2025, I had my interview today around September 2025 with DCSA, and I have an interim SCI. On NSIPS and ETJ, it says I have an interim SCI still pending tier 3, which shouldn’t be true.

I haven’t been contacted by any investigators, my red flags I put down was a mental health history when I was a teen (about 5-7 years ago)

I don’t have my full clearance according to the records, though most of my classmates have their clearances completed. Is this an indicator of an issue, or should I go down to the SSO and check if it’s maybe just not updated? Have yall heard about discrepancies such as this before? I apologize if it’s a stupid question, I couldn’t find much related to this specific issue.
