Has anyone completely gotten rid of intermittent exotropia?

I have myopia of approximately -2.75 in one eye and -5.00 in the other. I have divergent strabismus (intermittent exotropia/heterophoria). One eye drifts outward intermittently - mainly when I am relaxed, tired, or not actively focusing on something. When I consciously concentrate, I can usually keep my eyes aligned. I also have amblyopia in the drifting eye.

Has anyone here with a similar type of strabismus managed to completely get rid of it, so that the eye no longer drifts even when relaxed or tired?

If so, what treatment did you have, and how did you achieve the result? I'm particularly interested in experiences with surgery, vision therapy, prism correction, or other treatments.

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who were able to achieve a complete or nearly complete correction.

What should I ask my ophthalmologist before LASIK/Femto-LASIK?

I have myopia of approximately -2.75 in my right eye and -5.00 in my left eye, with -0.50 and -0.25 astigmatism respectively.

Several ophthalmologists have told me that I am a candidate for laser vision correction, specifically LASIK or Femto-LASIK.

I'm considering the procedure, but I want to make sure I understand all the potential risks and consequences before making a decision.

For those who have had LASIK/Femto-LASIK or have experience with laser vision correction:

What questions would you recommend asking the ophthalmologist before agreeing to the procedure?

Is there anything in particular you think is important to clarify beforehand, including things that you only learned about after the surgery?

What do you wish you had asked your doctor before having laser vision correction?

Was laser vision correction recommended before strabismus surgery?

I recently had a consultation with a strabismus surgeon. He told me that before having surgery to correct my strabismus, it would be better to have laser vision correction first. He said that after correcting my vision, my eye would likely drift less.

To be honest, I'm quite afraid of having laser vision correction because I'm worried about possible complications, such as dry eye syndrome, double vision, or other long-term side effects.

I currently wear glasses. My prescription is approximately -2.75 in one eye and -5.00 in the other. I have divergent strabismus and amblyopia. One eye drifts outward intermittently - mainly when I am relaxed and not actively focusing on something. When I consciously focus, I can keep my eyes aligned.

I'd like to hear from people who have been in a similar situation:

  1. Was laser vision correction recommended to you before strabismus surgery? Did your strabismus surgeon consider it necessary or preferable?
  2. Were you able to proceed with strabismus treatment while continuing to use glasses or contact lenses instead of having laser vision correction?
  3. If you did have laser vision correction, did it actually improve your strabismus? Did your eye drift less afterward?

I'm not asking for medical advice - I'm mainly interested in hearing about other people's experiences with this approach.

Is it normal for some keyboard keys to have a slightly different white backlight color? (ASUS TUF F16)

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a new ASUS TUF F16, and I noticed something about the keyboard backlight.

When I set the RGB lighting to static white, a few keys (for example Ш, Л, Ь) have a slightly pinkish tint, while the rest of the keys look more neutral white. The difference isn't huge, but it's noticeable if I look closely.

Is this normal for RGB keyboards, or could it be a manufacturing defect? Would you consider this acceptable, or is it something worth contacting ASUS about?

Thanks!

New ASUS TUF F16 - Is this backlight bleed normal?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a new ASUS TUF F16 with an IPS display. I noticed a small light bleed/glow near the bottom-left of the screen. It's only visible on a completely black screen in a dark room and isn't noticeable during normal use.

One thing I found interesting is that if I gently press on the bottom bezel near that area, the light bleed actually shifts or changes position slightly.

Is this considered a manufacturing defect, or is it normal for IPS panels? Would ASUS typically replace the display or the laptop under warranty because of something like this?

Also, if I decide to keep it as it is, could this become a bigger problem over time, or is it likely to stay the same?

Thanks!

Quiet Setup for ASUS TUF F16 Development Work

Hello.

Yesterday I bought an ASUS TUF F16 Tianxuan, and I noticed that in Performance and Silent modes the fans sometimes spin up loudly for a few seconds and then stop.

I would like the laptop to run as quietly as possible. I mainly use it for frontend development with applications such as browsers, Cursor, VS Code, and Figma.

Can you recommend the best settings to make the laptop run quietly while working?
